Kuwait head into the contest on the back of a dominant display against Singapore in the opening game of the ACC Premier Cup. They posted 249/4 while batting first and bowled out the opposition on 96 runs. This victory gave them a huge NRR boost in the points table. Meet Bhavsar scored unbeaten 84 runs and Mohammed Aslam contributed a half-century. The duo added 105 runs for the third wicket.

Mohammed Aslam produced an all-round performance with four-wicket haul. Mohammad Aqif Farooq picked up three wickets in the victory. Before coming to this tournament, had a solid ODI form. They featured in the ICC CWC Challenge League A, having an unbeaten run in the last five games. They tied one game with Jersey and secured wins over Denmark, PNG and Qatar. Their one game against Kenya was washed out.

In the last 50-over edition of the Premier Cup, Kuwait won three out of four games in the group stage. Their semifinal game was washed out against Nepal where they were six down on 37 runs. Scotland needed 14 runs from nine balls when they lost their eighth wicket. They then lost their ninth wicket with three runs still needed from three balls, but eventually held their nerve to secure a dramatic victory.

Rahul Chopra could be a player to watch out for. He has been UAE’s leading run-scorer in the ICC CWC League Two, scoring 581 runs in 19 innings. He also scored a century in the last game against Canada. Muhammad Waseem has also been a key contributor, scoring 548 runs in the tournament, but he will not be available due to the European T20 League.

With the ball, Junaid Siddique has been impressive, picking up 40 wickets in the CWC League Two. Aayan Afzal Khan is another handy bowling option, having claimed 19 wickets in the tournament.
