NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah reached a notable career milestone when he claimed his 300th wicket in men’s T20 cricket during Mumbai Indians’ Indian Premier League ( IPL ) fixture against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday. The landmark dismissal arrived off the final ball of Bumrah's spell in the 19th over.Bowling the penultimate over, Bumrah sent down a leg‑stump full‑toss that shaped in slightly.Heinrich Klaasen, who had anchored the hosts with a fluent 71 from 44 balls, attempted to whip the ball over deep backward square.Instead, he skewed a top‑edge that travelled to Tilak Varma in the deep, and the fielder completed a straightforward catch.Bumrah’s figures closed at 1/39, while fellow seamer Trent Boult produced the standout spell for Mumbai with 4/26.Sunrisers finished on one 143/8, a total that left Mumbai needing one run more than that for victory.Bumrah’s 300‑wicket mark places him 33rd on the all‑time list of T20 wicket‑takers. The table is led by Rashid Khan on 640, with Dwayne Bravo and Sunil Narine next, both having surpassed five hundred. The match itself unfolded against a sombre backdrop. Players from both sides wore black armbands to honour victims of the Pahalgam terror attack that occurred the previous day.At the toss, Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya opted to bowl first and used five bowlers. Pat Cummins, leading Sunrisers, confirmed one change to his line‑up as Jaydev Unadkat replaced Mohammed Shami. After the innings break, Mumbai Indians began their chase needing just over seven runs an over, with Bumrah’s personal landmark contributing a talking point to an otherwise low‑scoring contest.
