The Round of 16 arrives at the 2026 WTA US Open. The Billie Jean King USTA National Tennis Center will host four matches on Sunday. These matches will determine the quarterfinals for the final Major of the season. The WTA US Open has created a second week in which a lot of the big names will be involved. Sunday’s order of play includes Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, and Marta Kostyuk, all players who have at least played in a Major semifinal. Andreeva – Potapova: 11:00 EST

We kick off today’s coverage with a rematch from last year’s WTA US Open. Mirra Andreeva absolutely demolished Anastasia Potapova 6-1, 6-3 in the second round of the 2025 WTA US Open. In fact, two of Andreeva’s three wins against Potapova came in a Major. To be fair to Potapova, her showing earlier this year in Linz was considerably better. The two met in the final at WTA Linz, and it took three sets for Andreeva to put her away. The final tally was 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 in favor of Andreeva.

Best Bet to Make

Neither lady has gone very far in this tournament, and regardless of what happens on Monday, one of them will log a career-best showing at the US Open. Andreeva is 43-13 in 2026, and she’s 20-8 on a hardcourt. There’s a reason she is as high as a 6-1 favorite on some books. We recommend looking at an alternative handicap of -5.5 games for Potapova.

Swiatek – Zheng: 11:30 EST

Sometimes players get lucky enough to face an opponent they know so well and struggle with so rarely that you almost know the outcome before it occurs. This is one of those instances. Iga Swiatek will face off against Qinwen Zheng for the ninth time in her career. She’s lost once.

Best Bet to Make

Aside from her absurd record against Zheng, Swiatek also has the added benefit of being 25-7 overall on a hardcourt. She’s beaten Zheng in the French Open, Indian Wells, United Cup, Dubai, Cincinnati, Stuttgart, and San Diego. Even with all that, Zheng nabbed a victory against Swiatek in the Olympic semifinals, no less.

That being said, betting on Swiatek winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Osaka – Rybakina: 14:30 EST

H2H: 0-1

There were fireworks and the court was on fire the last time these two met. That match took place in August at the WTA Toronto quarterfinals. Rybakina would prevail in a 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-4 match. Rybakina is looking to win her first US Open, as she’s already won the Australian Open and Wimbledon. Osaka has won here twice. The first time was in 2018 and the second was 2020. She was a semifinalist here last year.

Best Bet to Make

As good as Osaka is, she is the underdog at 2.14 to 1.71 in favor of Rybakina. Both ladies are 8-2 in their last ten matches. Rybakina has had a solid year overall. She is 45-13 overall and 32-7 on a hardcourt.

That being said, betting on Under 22.5 games is a value bet for sure.

Jovic – Gauff: 19:00 EST

Our featured match in today’s article is Iva Jovic vs Coco Gauff. The two met earlier this year at WTA Rome in the round of 16; Gauff sent Jovic home after a three-set match ended 5-7, 7-5, 6-2 in her favor. Gauff has won the US Open and the French Open, while Jovic is considered an up-and-comer with just two WTA wins. Gauff is the favorite by a considerable margin.

Best Bet to Make

The books have Gauff as the favorite, and we agree. She’s red hot after taking the title at WTA Cincinnati right before the US Open. She has nine wins out of ten matches, but Jovic is only 7-3 in her ten. Gauff’s only loss is to Rybakina in a semifinal, but Jovic has lost in the third round twice, and once in the round of 16 in her three losses. We think the smart pick is to take Gauff winning in straight sets. She’s simply better right now.
