Forward says goodbye to Man United after completing transfer as players respond

The young forward has completed a permanent move away from Old Trafford as he continues his development elsewhere.

Former Manchester United forward Gabriele Biancheri has taken to social media to send a message to the club. The 19-year-old has completed a move to Austrian side FC Wacker Innsbruck.

He will now look to have an impact on the second tier of Austrian football. He made his debut in the second round of the Austrian Cup on Saturday, with his team coming out as 3-2 winners over Blau Weiss Linz.

Ahead of the game, Biancheri responded to his move away from United on social media. Sharing a picture of him in action for the club, he wrote: "Thank you @manutd for everything over the last couple of years."

The post prompted responses from some former United teammates. Shea Lacey wrote: "Good luck my brother," with Chido Obi sending the same message.

Joe Hugill wrote: "All the best brother," while Harry Amass replied with: "GL" and a red heart emoji. Ethan Wheatley posted a red heart and crying emoji, with Tyler Fletcher responding in the same way.

Dan Gore, Jim Thwaites, and Jacob Devaney were also among those to send good luck messages. Kai Rooney was among those to 'like' the post.

As well as a goodbye message to United, Biancheri also posted pictures of himself with the FC Wacker shirt, along with the caption: "Excited to be here and can’t wait to get started."

The Welshman spent three-and-a-half years with United, after joining from Cardiff City in February 2023. He played 45 times for the development team, scoring 16 goals and providing seven assists, but never made a first-team appearance.

Biancheri spent the second half of last season on loan with League One side Rotherham United, but failed to register a goal or an assist in his 11 appearances for the club as they suffered relegation to League Two.

He is not the only forward to leave the club since the end of the transfer window, with Chido Obi completing a season-long loan move to Dutch side Willem II. The 18-year-old made his debut on Saturday as a late substitute in the 3-0 home loss against Excelsior.
