As expected, Australian captain Alyssa Healy introduced Sophie Molineux into the attack during the powerplay, hoping to capitalize on the fact that Indian batters have struggled against left-arm spinners in this World Cup. However, Smriti Mandhana had other plans. She took the attack to the Aussie spinner, smashing two boundaries and a six. The Vizag crowd erupted with every shot, with the iconic "Chak De India" tune echoing through the stadium.

Meanwhile, Alyssa Healy is shocked at some of those shots.

Australia have brought in the spinner inside the first powerplay itself. In the sixth over Alyssa Healy has decided to hand the ball to Ashliegh Gardner.

A veteran customer, Gardner is way more than a part-time bowler. She is excellent with her lines and lengths and has the ability to outthink the batters.

When the boundaries haven’t come, her strike rotation has looked laboured — a worrying sign in high-pressure scenarios. That said, this pitch appears more batter-friendly than the one used in the South Africa clash. The fact that there’s been no rain for the last 36 hours has certainly helped conditions improve.

But when it comes to the results, it’s been more of a one-sided tale. Australia lead the head-to-head 48–11 — a wide gulf.

Visakhapatnam had a bit of everything during India’s clash with South Africa — runs, swing under the afternoon sun and lights, and turn as the game wore on. Dew made its presence felt in the evening last time, and it could once again shape decisions at the toss.

The rain delayed the India vs South Africa clash in Vizag by an hour, but the forecast looks clear for Sunday, in the first half of the game at least. It is expected to rain later in the evening. The temperatures are expected to peak around 32°C, with the kind of humidity that has become a constant during this World Cup.

Vizag vibes: Port city prepares for Women's World Cup's first sold-out game

Harmanpreet Kaur's India are yet to play a perfect game. In a rain-marred match against South Africa, the Indian top-order once again failed with the bat. Despite yet another heroic middle-order rescue, the team were not able to save the game due to some stunning batting by the South Africans.

India have been trying to rectifying those errors, but it has not quite come off yet.

So, what's the hype about this fixture you ask?

It is India vs Australia afterall. The two potential finalists are meeting each other for the first time in the tournament. And both are coming off tricky games.

India lost to South Africa in Vizag, while Australia despite a disastrous batting performance scraped past Sri Lanka.

Both the teams will be hoping to dominate this fixture and hopefuly India will come up on the right side of things today.
