A new BBC Sport documentary offers unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to Manchester United and England star Ella Toone as she prepares for one of the most important days of her life - her wedding - while still coming to terms with the loss of her biggest fan, her dad.

Launching on BBC Sport’s YouTube channel and BBC iPlayer on Friday 29 May, 24 Hours With… Ella Toone is the first episode of a new BBC Sport digital series which captures a defining 24-hour chapter with some of sport’s most fascinating characters.

In this episode, Ella opens up, alongside her fiancé Joe Bunney, on the impact of losing her dad, how his absence will be felt on their big day and talks through the decision to ask her uncle to walk her down the aisle.

A double Euros winner with the Lionesses, Toone has built her life around football. For Ella and Joe, maintaining a life outside of this is a challenge, never mind planning a wedding alongside an already hectic sporting calendar. Set across a rare 24-hour window on a day off, they reveal some of their exciting wedding plans and give an insight into their busy daily lives, including visiting Ella’s ET7 academy, hosting six of Ella’s bridesmaids to discuss the hen do and their dresses and attending a dance rehearsal for their first wedding dance, to hilarious effect.

Humour and heartbreak sit side-by-side in this day-in-the-life portrait of one of the Lionesses’ most charismatic players, on and off the pitch.

Watch on Friday 29 May from 6pm on BBC Sport’s YouTube channel and BBC iPlayer or watch live at 7pm on BBC Three. The YouTube Premiere page will be available from 6pm on Wednesday 27 May to set a reminder.
