England vs Italy at UEFA Women's EURO 2025: Head-to-head record ahead of blockbuster semi-final

Tuesday (22 July) marks the 33rd football meeting between England and Italy, coming at UEFA Women’s EURO 2025, with the stakes higher than ever.

It is their fifth encounter in the history of the tournament, the first in the semi-final.

Defending champions England left it late to turn things around against Sweden, drawing 2-2 before a breathless penalty shootout fell in their favour (3-2).

Italy, meanwhile, beat Norway 2-1 in a last-gasp thriller that saw prolific forward Cristiana Girelli clinch the winning goal at the death.

Now attention turns to the last four.

The Lionesses are looking to become just the second side in EUROs history to successfully defend their title, while Le Azzurre are looking to become only the sixth nation to lift the trophy.

Italy have won 14 of their 32 encounters with England coming out on top 12 times. Six games ended in a draw.
