Tyrell Malacia has revealed that he is delighted to be 'finally playing football again' after completing his loan move to PSV Eindhoven from Manchester United.

The defender, who made 47 appearances for United, has joined the Eredivisie champions until the end of the season after coming back from a spell on the sidelines.

He started his career at Feyenoord and has nine caps for the Netherlands but hasn't featured for his country since 2023.

'I'm happy to be here. Finally playing football again,' he told the club's website. 'I'm coming back from a long injury, but I'm fit now and I know that my time will come again.

'Every tough period also has positive elements and in this case that is that I have become much stronger physically and mentally.

'I have more patience, I am more mature, I know my body better and things like that. I'm ready to go all out and hopefully win more prizes with PSV.'

The full-back saw a move to Benfica fall through over the weekend - having already said his goodbyes to team-mates along with Marcus Rashford.

Malacia had been set to join the Portuguese club, but Benfica weren't able to agree to the loan fee and buy option terms that United had demanded.

The 25-year-old has also had interest from Celtic and Real Betis.

Malacia would have fallen even further down the United pecking order with the arrival of Patrick Dorgu from Leece. He had featured just three times for United in the Premier League this season.
