Marcus Rashford returns to England camp as Thomas Tuchel dishes out the hugs to recalled Jordan Henderson and Geordie hero new boy Dan Burn at St George's Park

England's stars have reported for duty for the first time since Thomas Tuchel became manager.

Tuchel, who officially started work on January 1 after being appointed last October, named his first squad on Friday, with the German selecting 26 players as the Three Lions prepare to start their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.

England take on Albania and Latvia at Wembley over the next seven days and the 51-year-old will hope to get his reign off to the perfect start.

And on Monday afternoon, several stars were seen linking up for duty at England's base at St George's Park, including the recalled duo of Marcus Rashford and Jordan Henderson.

Tuchel was there to greet his players as they arrived and he looked delighted as he properly gets underway in what is his first role in international football.

Rashford, who last played for the Three Lions a year ago, has been called-up after rediscovering his form on loan at Aston Villa having been frozen out by Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.

England new boy and Newcastle hero Dan Burn was all smiles after earning his first call-up

He had his hood up as he arrived, but was smiling and put his thumbs up for the camera.

The forward was then seen sharing a warm hug with Henderson, with the former Liverpool captain a shock pick by Tuchel having seemingly had his international career ended by Gareth Southgate last year when he was left out of England's squad for Euro 2024.

Henderson caught up with many of his team-mates, including Jude Bellingham, Delan Rice and Reece James, while he similarly had an embrace with Tuchel.

There was also the sight of Dan Burn at England's HQ, just hours after he won the Carabao Cup with Newcastle. The giant defender had scored and put in a brilliant performance in the Magpies' 2-1 win over Liverpool in the final at Wembley.

Burn, 32, earned his maiden call-up last week despite having never featured for the Three Lions at any level as Tuchel chose to reward the defender for his fine form at St James' Park over the past three years.

Several regular members of the squad, including the likes of Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane and Jordan Pickford looked in positive spirits upon arrival, but somes less experienced names were also among the group.

Myles Lewis-Skelly had a delighted expression on his face as he reported for duty for the first time following his breakout campaign for Arsenal.

Elsewhere, Tino Livramento, Morgan Rogers and James Trafford were also seen greeting Tuchel in public.

Less experienced members of the squad, including Tino Livramento, also greeted Tuchel

Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White, who was a late call-up after concerns emerged over Cole Palmer's fitness, was similarly all smiles.

Many stars were seen mingling with each other in what appeared to be a communal area at St George's Park, including Burn and Kane alongside Lewis-Skelly and Bellingham.

Elsewhere, Anthony Barry, who previously worked alongside Tuchel at Chelsea and is his No 2 at England, could be seen catching up with Reece James after the trio led the Blues to Champions League glory in 2021.

Meanwhile, speaking on Friday following his decision to recall Rashford after four assists in nine games with Villa, Tuchel said: 'Marcus is on a good way, we thought now we were convinced that it is the right time to push him with his nomination.

'He has had a huge impact lately for Aston Villa. I was delighted to see his effort against the ball, his effort to be the best team-mate possible, his consistent energy in defence with Aston Villa.

'There is no doubt about his talent and quality but to see him be so decisive and so involved physically gave me the impression it was the right moment to call him up and give him the extra push that he stays on that level.'

England host Albania at Wembley on Friday night, before they take on Latvia on Monday, with the 2026 World Cup just 15 months away.
