Pakistan cricket is in a dire state. The team is on the verge of getting whitewashed by Bangladesh in the Test series at home. A team that did not win a Test against Pakistan before the series is now on the cusp of creating history. Pakistan have themselves to blame for their poor state though as they did not play well enough to win. Bangladesh need 143 runs to win on the final day with all 10 wickets in hand and only a miracle can save the hosts from what looks a certain defeat.

Pakistan did not bat well in the first innings and only scored 274 runs, however, they did bounce back to reduce Bangladesh to 26/6. It seemed that Pakistan would bowl out Bangladesh to a low score and take a big lead but Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan crashed their hopes. Das went on to score a magnificent century while Hasan's aggressive 78 put Pakistan on the backfoot. A team that was hopeful of a 100+ lead had to content with a lead of 12 runs. Later, Bangladesh bowled out Pakistan for 172 in the second innings and took a big leap towards a historic clean sweep.

Meanwhile, former Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shahzad lashed out at Pakistan for their shambolic performance. Shahzad questioned the shot selection of Pakistan batters and said the team is playing with the fans' emotions. Shahzad also slammed PCB and said the board is equally responsible for the sorry state.

"Bangladeshi bowlers ne Pakistan ke ballebazon ko fir se tigni ka naach nachaya hai. (Bangladesh bowlers have made Pakistan batters dance to their tunes)," Shahzad said in a video on X, as quoted by TOI. "We are seeing T20 shot selection. The bat is too far away from the body on the shots they are getting out on. Coaches question you on shots even in T20Is." he added.

"Aap Apni Galtiyo se seekh nhi rhe (you are not learning from your mistakes). You don't have that charm anymore. Hum log galti karrhe hai apse umeed laga ke (we are making a mistake by resting hopes on you) or the fans are making a mistake because you are playing with fans' emotions. Bangladesh defeated you in first Test and are on verge of winning the second Test. This is not a fluke. When you lose to Afghanistan, Ireland and Zimbabwe, it is not a fluke,) added Shahzad.

Meanwhile, Pakistan would look up to rain gods to escape a defeat. The play was called off on Day 4 prematurely due to rain and the forecast is not good for Day 5. As per the weather forecast, there are chances of heavy rain in Rawalpindi on the final day of the Test series.
