Omar Marmoush has been tipped to become the heir to Mohamed Salah at Liverpool, for more reasons than only one. Analysing just the numbers and it is clear to see why the attacker is one of the hottest properties in European football.

For almost eight years now, more often than not, Liverpool has been lit up by the sheer footballing ability and willingness to lead from Salah. 221 goals and 99 assists in 366 outings in the club's colours mean the 32-year-old will leave a Reds legend, a Premier League legend too and will hopefully be remembered by all long after he hangs up his boots.

The timing of when he leaves is, of course, a huge current topic as talks remain ongoing to extend the deal that runs out in 2025. A smart club like Liverpool are prepared for all eventualities though, and the name Marmoush has been increasingly appearing as the months go by.

Lately it has been suggested the player is keen to move to the Premier League and it would cost any club between €50m (£41.5m) and €60m(£50m).

As a successor to Salah, Marmoush's emergence could not have come at a better time. The man dubbed 'the Egyptian king' may have a 'prince' worthy to step into his shoes for both club and country. As both play together for their national team, it remains to be seen whether they would cross paths at Anfield or not.

But aside from their obvious ties through nationality that bring to the scenario a certain poeticism, or the contract situation at Anfield, nothing can diminish the achievements of the 25-year-old over in Germany that make the most eye-catching aspect of this supposed latest Liverpool transfer pursuit.

According to Whoscored, Marmoush is outperforming every single player in Europe with an 8.42 average match rating, judged from his 10 Bundesliga outings so far this term. In comparison Bayern Munich's Harry Kane - the next highest star from the same division on the list - has only an 8.12 rating.

The Eintracht Frankfurt forward has scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in his league appearances, whilst Kane has scored the same amount and provided two fewer assists.

Marmoush keeps his place at the top of the ranking solely based on home fixtures, handed an even higher average rating of 8.96 as he has netted five and provided four of his assists at the Deutsche Bank Park. His English adversary, on the other hand, falls down the table seventh with an average 8.22 score from matches based at Bayern's Allianz Arena.

Just to further reinforce the point, the Egyptian's 8.07 average rating beats out Kane's 8.05 from solely away fixtures too.

When Kane was at Tottenham Hotspur, it was Salah who he went to battle with on a personal level over golden boot and player of the year awards. Now it is Marmoush who will seemingly push the Bayern striker all the way this term, and in the process might just earn himself that major move a player dreams of.
