The summer window is really stepping up a notch as Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all continue to work on major signings with the World Cup almost over. Arsenal are believed to have held fresh talks over Julian Alvarez amid more speculation regarding a sensational swap involving Viktor Gyokeres, while they are expected to bid for Christos Tzolis after agreeing to sell Leandro Trossard to Besiktas. The Gunners remain in pursuit of Morgan Rogers and Bruno Guimaraes, plus wonderkid Andria Bartishvili.

Manchester United want to continue their midfield overhaul with a move for France star Manu Kone, having now welcomed both Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos, as well as goalkeeper Karl Darlow. However, they have pulled out of a deal involving Ederson, who has been offered a new contract at Atalanta. Chelsea are still pushing hard to land Pep Chavarria and Maxence Lacroix, with Alvaro Carreras also potentially on Xabi Alonso’s radar.

Chelsea make Alvaro Carreras offer

Chelsea could be moving for Alvaro Carreras amid their ongoing frustrations over Pep Chavarria.

The Blues have been pushing hard to sign Rayo Vallecano left-back Chavarria in recent weeks as they look to fill the considerable void left by Marc Cucurella’s £51.7m departure for Real Madrid.

However, they don’t seem to be able to settle on a fee with the surprise Conference League finalists and may now have turned attentions to Carreras instead.

Catalan outlet Sport have reported an initial approach from Chelsea to Real Madrid over ex-Manchester United defender Carreras, which was followed up with an offer worth around £21.3m.

However, that is said to fall well below Madrid’s asking price of approximately £42.6m.

Liverpool hold fresh talks over Bradley Barcola

Liverpool have held new talks with Paris Saint-Germain over Bradley Barcola, reports claim.

The France forward has emerged as a key transfer target for the start of the Andoni Iraola era at Anfield after it became clear that RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande only had eyes for PSG.

Arsenal have also been linked with Barcola, but TEAMtalk claim that Liverpool - who are seeking to replace Mohamed Salah having already signed Spain winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna - have now made fresh contact over a deal for the 23-year-old.

PSG are said to be eager to offload Barcola, who is keen on a switch to Merseyside.

Man Utd face Liverpool fight for Manu Kone

Manchester United want to make Manu Kone part of their midfield overhaul this summer - but could face stern competition from rivals Liverpool.

Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans have both arrived at Old Trafford this week, while the Red Devils also pulled out of a deal for Ederson - who has since been offered a new contract by Atalanta.

They are now being heavily linked with Roma’s Kone, who had impressed for France at the World Cup before last night’s total semi-final no-show from Les Bleus against Spain.

However, Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport reports that Liverpool are also in the fight for Kone, alongside Atletico Madrid, with Roma needing to make sales.

Arsenal to launch Christos Tzolis bid

It seems like an Arsenal bid for Christos Tzolis is now imminent.

The Gunners are known to be keen on bringing Club Brugge’s Greek winger back to English football, following his previous spell at Norwich.

Arsenal are opening up a space in their Premier League title-winning squad for Tzolis after confirming yesterday that a deal had been agreed with Besiktas for the sale of Leandro Trossard.

According to BBC Sport, Arsenal and sporting director Andrea Berta are now set to accelerate their pursuit of Tzolis, who could be available for around £30m.

They make it clear that such a transfer would be in addition to potential moves for other high-profile forwards such as Julian Alvarez.

Arsenal get new Julian Alvarez boost

Arsenal appear to have been handed a fresh boost in their long-running pursuit of Julian Alvarez.

It has been reported that the Gunners are back in talks with Atletico Madrid over the potential blockbuster signing of the former Manchester City and current Argentina striker, who will face England in the World Cup semi-finals tonight.

Luca Bendoni of Sky Sport in Italy reports that new contact has been made between the two clubs, who are still apart in their respective valuations of Alvarez.

Manchester United have announced the signing of Youri Tielemans, who arrives at Old Trafford to become the Red Devils’ third summer signing.

The Belgian, who missed his country’s 2-1 defeat in the quarter-finals of the World Cup with a hamstring injury, has joined United from Aston Villa.

The 29-year-old moves to the north west in a £35million deal, signing a five-year contract with Michael Carrick’s side triggered a release clause in his terms at Villa Park.
