There was an amazing team goal from Geelong when Gryan Miers managed to soccer the ball along the ground from the boundary.

The ball managed to stay in only centimetres from the boundary line, and Miers crossed it to the goal square like an expert soccer striker.

Ollie Henry then charged in and soccered it through the goals

“No way ... That is dreaming up something special in a prelim,” said Seven commentator Alister Nicholson.

“And the cherry pick from Henry into the back of the net.”

Social media lit up.

Miers went viral last year when he was compared to Argentina’s football legend Lionel Messi.

A social media troll made the joke comparison and attributed the quote to well-known sports commentator Gerard Whateley.

Whateley was not amused but the joke gathered plenty of steam.
