Jannik Sinner is off to the perfect start on the clay as he prevailed in his debut match on the surface this season, at the 2026 Monte-Carlo Masters.

The world No. 2 defeated France’s Ugo Humbert 6-3, 6-0, taking just 64 minutes to book his place in the round of 16 on Tuesday (7 April) at the ATP Masters 1000 tennis event.

Sinner, fresh off claiming the last two Masters-level titles on the hard courts of Indian Wells and Miami, could not have asked for more in his first match of the season on clay.

The Italian awaits either Francisco Cerúndolo or Tomáš Macháč in the next round, as he aims to restore his spot as the No. 1 player in the world.
