Football fans around the world turn their attention to the final day of the summer 2026 transfer window. The deadline for completing deals is approaching in a number of major European leagues, with clubs locked in a frantic race to finalise their last signings before the curtain falls on the transfer period.

Here we follow the latest news and movements of the transfer market in Europe and a number of leagues around the world around the clock. That means official deals, ongoing negotiations, anticipated transfers and the most notable developments the final hours may witness before the doors close.

In Italy, France and Germany, the summer window ends at 9:00pm today, Tuesday, Mecca time.

Spain's window closes at 12:59am on Wednesday. The deadline in the English league extends until 1:00am on the same day.

Away from the major European leagues, the second transfer window in the American league ends tomorrow, Wednesday, while the transfer market in the Netherlands closes on the same day.

Turkey's window runs until next Friday. The transfer market in Mexico ends on 11 September this month and Portugal on the 15th of the same month, while the deadline in Saudi Arabia extends until 12 October.

Jack Grealish has officially joined Everton on loan until the end of the season, leaving Manchester City's ranks.

The move keeps the winger at Goodison Park until his City contract at the Etihad expires.

The German club have announced an agreement with Roma to sign Morocco international Neil El Aynaoui on loan.

Fabrizio Romano reports the loan is worth 4 million euros. The deal also includes a buy option set at 25 million euros, plus a percentage of any future transfer fee.

El Aynaoui was one of the standout names at the World Cup.

Manchester United weighed up a late move for Algeria's Rayan Ait-Nouri, the Manchester City player, as they looked to bolster their options at left-back in the closing hours of the transfer window.

The club walked away from the deal, according to Sky Sports, after the proposed terms included a clause forcing them to sign the player permanently once the loan expired.

United would rather hold off until next summer before spending on the position, targeting a long-term signing instead. Luke Shaw remains the first-choice left-back in the meantime.

Manchester City have completed the signing of Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, in a deal that could rise to 65 million pounds, according to Sky Sports sources.

The 26-year-old has signed a contract running until 2031. Manchester City will pay a fixed fee of 60 million pounds, plus a further 5 million in add-ons.

City moved to bolster their attacking options after allowing Savio and Omar Marmoush to leave for Tottenham earlier in the month, a double exit that stripped Enzo Maresca of choices on the wing.

Everton, meanwhile, are working to strike a deal for striker Joshua Zirkzee on loan from Manchester United.

Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has completed his move from Chelsea to Italian side Como on a season-long loan.

Chelsea's signing of Argentine Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa pushed Sanchez down the goalkeeping pecking order, and he opted for a fresh challenge in Serie A.

Midfielder Dario Essugo has also headed out, joining Strasbourg on a season-long loan after drawing interest from Hull City during the current window.

Striker David Washington has completed a permanent switch to Strasbourg too. He arrived at Chelsea from Santos for 17.1 million pounds three years ago but managed just three appearances.

Deivid Richards, another striker, has joined Wimbledon on a season-long loan.

Liverpool wrapped up a new signing on Tuesday, just hours before the summer transfer window slammed shut. An official statement confirmed the Reds had struck a deal for goalkeeper Luka Broegmans from Belgian side Genk.

The 18-year-old put pen to paper on a long-term contract at the AXA Training Centre.

According to the BBC, the deal is worth up to 30 million pounds including add-ons. He will stay at Genk on loan this season before making the move to Anfield ahead of the 2027-2028 campaign.

Manchester City have sealed the signing of Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez in one of the summer's biggest deals. The Chelsea man is Etihad-bound after the two clubs struck an agreement.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano broke the news that the deal is done. He confirmed a value in excess of £125 million after lengthy negotiations between the clubs, with Fernandez now preparing to undergo a medical before completing his move.

That fee makes Fernandez the most expensive signing in Premier League history. He surpasses the previous record held by Sweden's Alexander Isak, who joined Liverpool from Newcastle United for £125 million.

Al-Shabab have signed Saudi international defender Ali Al-Bulaihi, and they did it with a swipe some read as a direct dig at their neighbours and rivals, Al-Hilal.

The club confirmed the one-season deal in a statement on their official "X" account.

What caught the eye wasn't the statement, though. It was the caption Al-Shabab attached to it: "Ali Al-Bulaihi at the giant of the capital", a phrase Al-Hilal's own fans use to describe their team.

Barcelona have announced the signing of Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal during the current summer transfer window.

Barça said, in an official statement: "Arsenal and Barcelona have reached an agreement over the transfer of Gabriel Jesus to the Catalan side, with the Brazilian striker signing a three-season contract with Barcelona."

It added: "Gabriel Jesus was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on 3 April 1997, and began his footballing career in his hometown with the club Anhanguera. He then moved to the youth section of Palmeiras Sao Paulo, one of the country's biggest clubs. He played his first matches with the team in March 2015, and won the Copa do Brasil with them in 2015 and the league title in 2016, as well as being named best player in the Brazilian league in 2016."

Bayern Munich will not make any new signings for the rest of the transfer window, sporting director Christoph Freund has confirmed, even with some players potentially set to leave in the coming period.

Freund told the German media: "Nothing else will happen regarding new signings. As for departures, the transfer window will remain open after today in some countries, so something might happen."

Sacha Boey, meanwhile, is training separately as he waits on a possible exit. Hiroki Ito, on the other hand, will stay put after the club decided to keep him in the squad.

Aston Villa have officially announced the signing of young Senegalese forward Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth 55 million euros. The 18-year-old now begins a new chapter in the Premier League.

Talks entered their final stages in recent days once the two clubs struck an agreement over the transfer. Mbaye then travelled to England to undergo a medical and put pen to paper with Villa.

He arrives after a short but eventful spell in Paris. Mbaye joined PSG's academy at the age of ten before rising to the first team and making his professional debut in August 2024, aged 16 years, 6 months and 23 days, the youngest player ever to start a match for the club.

Richarlison will not be heading back to Everton four years after his exit. Sky Sports report the Brazilian striker, linked with a move away, is expected to stay put at Tottenham.

That wasn't the only blow for the Toffees. Sky Germany report that Jamie Leweling, Stuttgart's England international attacking midfielder, also turned down the Merseyside club, who had tabled 43 million euros for his signature.

Roma failed to strike a deal for the same player. Everton, though, may yet get other business over the line, including a possible move for Monaco striker Folarin Balogun.
