Former India head coach Rahul Dravid 's son Samit has already begun his T20 career and although it didn't start on a high, his shot-making skills have grabbed attention. Samit's Mysore Warriors faced the Bengaluru Blasters in their second match of the Maharaja Trophy on Friday, in what was the teenager's second outing in the Karnataka T20 league.

Mayank Agarwal won the toss and put the Warriors in to bat. Harshil Dharmani and Manoj Bhandage then led them to 182/6 in their 18 overs, in a rain-marred game.

SU Karthik and Karthik CA handed the Warriors a steady start before Aditya Goel dismissed the latter in the second over. Samit came in to bat after SU Karthik was dismissed in the fifth over.

The youngster engaged the audience by smacking a brilliant six down the ground off Gneshwar Naveen's bowling. On the fourth delivery of the seventh over, Naveen bowled a short-pitched ball outside the off stump. Samit sensed the opportunity and hit it for a brilliant six.

While Samit hit the brilliant six, Naveen had the last laugh in the battle. He was dismissed on the very next ball of the over, departing after scoring seven runs off as many deliveries.

The Blasters, led by Bhuvan Raju's half-century, chased down the 183-run target with five balls remaining. Notably, Samit has been signed by the Warriors for his base price of Rs 50000 for the tournament.

The Warriors began their Maharaja Trophy campaign against the Shivamogga Lions on Thursday. Put in to bat first by Nihal Ullal, they posted 159/8 in their 20 overs.

Unfortunately, Samit was dismissed for seven runs in that game as well. Bhandage's 16-ball 42 helped the Warriors post a respectable total on the board.

As the rain kept interrupting that game as well, the Lions had to chase down 88 runs in nine overs. Jagadeesha Suchith's two wickets restricted them to 80/5.

The Warriors are currently placed in third on the points table, with two points from as many games and a net run rate of -1. They next play the Gulbarga Mystics on Sunday, August 18 in Bengaluru.
