Josh Allen defends new Bills uniforms: 'Stop hating the jerseys'

Josh Allen likes the new Buffalo Bills uniforms, even if he might be in the minority.

Two days after the Bills released their new 'Nickel City' alternate jerseys, Buffalo's superstar quarterback had a message for anyone who reacted negatively to the announcement.

"Stop hating on the jerseys, guys," Allen told reporters Wednesday after the Bills' first practice of training camp.

The all-grey jerseys are inspired by Buffalo's historic steel mills, grain elevators and rail yards, while donning a blue collar as a nod to "the workers of past and present who represent the strength, work ethic, and authenticity" of the city.

And while the jerseys received plenty of negative feedback on social media, Allen, for one, is excited about the new look.

"I enjoy them. I think it's very symbolic of what we want to do and what we want to be," Allen said. "I understand people want the old jerseys and the old helmets and all that.

"But at some point, too, we are moving forward. We have to move forward and do something new — and that's what we're doing."

The Bills will wear the new jerseys for two games this season, but have not yet stated which games they will don the Nickel City uniforms.

The all-grey garb replaces last season's alternate uniform — the all-white 'Cold Front' jerseys, which they wore in a Sunday Night Football matchup against the rival New England Patriots.
