Andy Carroll named Dagenham & Redbridge manager as KSI brutally sacks boss

KSI has sacked the manager of Dagenham and Redbridge just weeks after taking over – with co-owner Andy Carroll named as the new boss.

Carroll has been a confirmed shareholder of the club since February, before KSI, 32, was announced, and his first task will be against veteran boss Neil Warnock and Torquay United on Saturday.

Bradbury, 50, was axed on Wednesday after a 3-2 win over Farnborough the night before.

He had only been in the post since the summer but lost his second match after Olajide “JJ” Olatunji, aka KSI, rocked up, winning the first and then drawing his third.

Former England star Carroll, 37 has been appointed as his replacement on an interim basis.

It comes as Carroll is set to stand trial next January after pleading not guilty to a charge of breaching a non-molestation order.

The footballer is accused of “repeatedly” making phone calls to ex-wife Billi Mucklow, who he shares three children with, in March last year.

The former couple married in 2022 but announced they were divorcing two years later.

A non-molestation order is an injunction issued by a civil court, usually aimed at preventing a person from going near another individual, address or both.

People who breach one, depending on the circumstances, can face criminal action resulting in a jail term of up to five years.

He was spotted with on/off girlfriend Lou Teasdale last week and spent the 1-0 win over Dorking sat in the stands with KSI at his first match.

Carroll himself is new to the club having signed on a free from French side Bordeaux last summer.

Journeyman striker Carroll played 12 times for the Daggers in the National League South this season, scoring six goals including a hat-trick.

He has been out since mid-December and will now find himself in the dugout against someone with well over 1,000 career matches in the hot seat.

Dagenham confirmed the news in a statement, adding: “We are very grateful to Lee for his focus, professionalism, and commitment during his time at the Club and for his contributions, both on and off the pitch, to stabilise the club last summer.

“Dagenham & Redbridge wish him every success in his future endeavours.”

Entrepreneur KSI, who started out playing games on YouTube but has since gone into boxing, music, selling energy drinks, and the Baller League, had celebrated Tuesday’s result online, writing on Instagram: “Fantastic away win!!!”

But the former Fifa streamer and Sidemen giant was called took drastic action shortly after regardless.

He has revealed grand plans to take Dagenham up to the Premier League.

They are currently 12th in the sixth tier of English football, unlikely to make a play-off spot this season.

Alongside Carroll, they have Chelsea flop and EFL floater Michael Hector.

Warnock, 77, is also an interim, jumping in last month to try and steer Torquay towards promotion.

He was unable to attend the weekend’s win over Chesham with coach Ronnie Jepson standing in instead.

Warnock is not only double Carroll’s age, he started managing nine years before the ex-Liverpool, Newcastle, and West Ham forward was even born.
