Arsenal midfielder Ethan Nwaneri has completed a season-long loan to Borussia Dortmund, while Manchester City have officially signed Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye as the Premier League transfer window closes at 23:00 BST on Tuesday.

Nwaneri, 19, joined the Bundesliga club on a straight loan with no option to buy. Dortmund will cover his wages in full.

The England Under-21 international spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille. Arsenal and the player agreed another temporary move would give him regular first-team football. Dortmund moved quickly after new signing Giannis Konstantelias suffered an ACL injury.

Also, Manchester City confirmed the arrival of Ndiaye with an official post on Tuesday evening: “Welcome to City, Iliman.” The Senegal international has completed his move from Everton in a deal worth £60 million plus up to £5 million in add-ons.

Pape Matar Sarr has moved from Tottenham Hotspur to Juventus on a season-long loan that includes an obligation to buy for approximately £23.6 million if certain performance and qualification conditions are met.

Manchester City and Chelsea are understood to be in advanced talks over a move for Enzo Fernandez that would match or approach the British transfer record, with the Argentina midfielder eager to reunite with Enzo Maresca.

Any agreement is likely to depend on Chelsea securing a midfield replacement, with Lamine Camara of Monaco and Manu Koné among the names being discussed.

Elsewhere, Tottenham remain linked with a late double deal involving Chelsea pair Mykhailo Mudryk (loan with option) and Tosin Adarabioyo, while Everton’s pursuit of Folarin Balogun from Monaco has hit potential medical complications that could yet affect related business.

Crystal Palace and Sunderland continue to be linked with late interest in Malick Fofana. Clubs have until 21:00 BST to submit deal sheets, after which they gain a two-hour window to finalise paperwork.

Arsenal update

Arsenal have been relatively quiet on the incoming front in the final hours. The club completed three outgoing deals on deadline day — Ethan Nwaneri’s season-long loan to Borussia Dortmund, Gabriel Jesus to Barcelona, and Fabio Vieira’s permanent move to Hamburg.

There has been late interest in Lyon winger Malick Fofana after the club explored the possibility, but Arsenal ultimately decided against matching Lyon’s valuation and stepped away.

Sunderland are now progressing with that deal. Julian Alvarez of Atlético Madrid remains a long-term target, but reports indicate the player has not committed to a move to north London and is more likely to stay in Spain for now.

The next Premier League transfer window — the winter window — will open on Friday 1 January 2027 and close at 23:00 GMT on Monday 1 February 2027.

Clubs will then have a one-month period to make mid-season reinforcements before the market shuts again until the following summer.
