Manchester United will hope to quickly right the wrongs of their first Premier League match against Hull City at home to Ipswich Town this weekend.

Michael Carrick's side were abysmal at the MKM Stadium last Saturday, and now face another newly promoted side on Sunday afternoon in Gary O'Neill's Ipswich Town. Kieran McKenna, who worked with Carrick as an assistant under Ole Gunnar Solskjær, guided the Tractor Boys to promotion, but left in the summer before O'Neill took charge.

The one positive of the first match of the campaign was Marcus Rashford's return to competitive action for his boyhood side. Rashford replaced Patrick Dorgu at half-time and looked the most dangerous United player on the pitch, although nobody came out with too much credit from a Manchester United perspective.

Michael Carrick is likely to make several changes for the Sunday 16:30 (BST) kick-off, although Senne Lammens will not be one of last week's starters to drop to the bench. Like Rashford, he was one of a few to come out with some positives.

There should be some changes in the backline, though.

Noussair Mazraoui started at right-back against Hull City, but looked all too much like the player who could not dislodge Diogo Dalot last term. The Portuguese full-back should return to the starting side, with Luke Shaw on the other flank.

In central defence, Harry Maguire is a shoo-in, but who plays next to him is not as straightforward. Ayden Heaven, Lisandro Martínez or Leny Yoro? While he was not at his best against Hull, Heaven should get the nod, given how impressive he was in pre-season.

Central midfield could see a shake-up too. Fans have called for Kobbie Mainoo to return to the starting line-up after Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans' below-par competitive debuts.

Michael Carrick may feel it's too soon to start the academy graduate, but his ability deserves a start, especially in front of his home crowd.

Bruno Fernandes will be the No.10, and Bryan Mbeumo will play ahead of him. The only question is what position?

With Amad seemingly out for up to six weeks, Mbeumo could continue on the right flank, but the Cameroon international has played his best football as a striker since his move from Brentford. Benjamin Šeško's fitness will likely be the deciding factor. And if he was brought on against Hull, he could get the nod from the start.

That leaves just the left wing to decide, and after his cameo from the bench, it is difficult to go against Marcus Rashford.
