Alexandra “Alex” Eala is set to face American Mary Stoiana in the first round of the 2026 US Open.

Stoiana, 23, is currently ranked No. 122 in the world, and will make her debut in the US Open main draw.

The American earned her spot in the main draw after victories over France’s Harmony Tan, 6-4, 6-3; Britain’s Katie Swan, 6(5)-7, 6-3, 6-3; and China’s Yue Yuan, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

Prior to the US Open, Stoiana played in the first round of the Cincinnati Open and the round of 32 at the Memphis Classic last month.

Eala, meanwhile, enters the tournament as the No. 17 seed, her highest seeding in a Grand Slam tournament.

The women's singles tournament is scheduled to start Sunday, New York time.

The Filipina tennis star recently teamed up with Felix Auger-Aliassime in mixed doubles, where they lost to Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils, 4-1, 4-1. She also faced Iva Jovic in an exhibition match, where her friend prevailed, 6-3.

Last year, Eala made history by reaching the second round of the US Open, becoming the first Filipina to win a main-draw match in a Grand Slam tournament.
