Adrigole made it two wins from two games in Group 1 of the McCarthy Insurance Group IAFC following a comprehensive win over St Finbarr’s second team on Saturday.

The Beara side were never in trouble as they won 2-13 to 1-8. Tom O’Connor was Adrigole’s main scorer with 0-8 (0-5 f) while Ben O’Sullivan once again netted a goal as well as Charlie O’Sullivan.

Ballinora and Glanworth couldn’t be separated after a 1-13 apiece draw. Shane O’Riordan rescued Glanworth with a two-pointer right at the death.

The Muskerry men, despite dropped points, remain on three points, two clear of Glanworth.

St Finbarr’s second string can't now qualify as a result of that game.

In Group 2, Ephie Fitzgerald’s Kildorrery snatched a last-gasp draw with a fancied Gabriel Rangers side as an entertaining game finished 1-15 apiece. It had looked like the West Cork outfit would prevail having been nip and tuck with their opposition throughout.

Kildorrery sub Pierce Piggott was the hero as he was on the end of a neat team move to finish the ball to the back of the net. Both teams are on three points going into the final group games.

Mitchelstown, with Cathail O’Mahony back from injury, got their first points of the championship after a 2-16 to 0-17 win over Dromtarriffe, who are now eliminated. Jason Scott popped up with 2-2 for the winners.

Kilmurry and Ilen Rovers played out a cracking 1-14 apiece draw in Group 3.

Ilen Rovers led by four points at the interval thanks to a Daniel Coakley goal, but a Seán O’Leary green flag levelled up proceedings with 15 minutes to go.

Last year’s Premier JFC winners trailed by a point late on before a Kyle Kelleher effort made sure the spoils were shared.

Both teams are on three points apiece with Boherbue now just a point behind after they defeated St Vincent’s with the city team now out of the top two running.

Last year’s beaten finalists had just that bit more quality to win 1-14 to 1-12 with Liam Moynihan and Gerry O'Sullivan excelling for the winners.

Moving down to the McCarthy Insurance Group Premier JFC, Canovee, many people’s pick to win it outright, were deservedly beaten by St Nick’s 2-16 to 0-15 in Group 1.

The Blackpool team, who are now top on three points, could call on the Downey brothers Rob and Eoin, who shone in an excellent team performance. Jack O’Sullivan kicked 0-9 (3 2pt). Danny Morris and Jamie Corkery got 1-2 each.

It’s a massive win for St Nick’s who were hammered by Canovee in the Division 6 league final 5-9 to 1-6 last month.

Canovee are level on two points apiece with Urhan after the latter’s gritty 1-18 to 2-12 success over Ballydesmond.

The Beara team had trailed by four points at the short whistle, but two-pointers helped Urhan make a comeback. A goal three minutes from time through Martin McCarthy was a crucial score to help his team over the line.

In Group 2, all four sides now have a win apiece going into the final group games. Kinsale lead the way on scoring difference after their 0-19 to 1-12 triumph over Cullen.

Michael Murphy kicked 0-10 (0-8 f, 1 2pt) for the Carrigdhoun team.

Na Piarsaigh were unable to make it back-to-back victories after falling to a narrow loss to Cobh, 0-17 to 1-9. Diarmuid Kearney was the winners' chief scorer with 0-5.

Finally, in Group 3, Buttevant and last season’s County JAFC winners Inniscarra are both through with a game to spare after comfortable wins.

Buttevant hammered Millstreet 4-27 to 2-5. Conor Hanlon hit 0-12 including five two-pointers while Michael O’Neill also impressed scoring 2-6. Mark Lenehan was also influential landing 1-6 (2 2pt, 0-2 f). Aaron Horgan tucked away a well taken goal.

Inniscarra showed no mercy in their 4-18 to 0-8 success against Glenville. Seán O’Donoghue bagged 2-2 with Mark McLoughlin and Frank Horgan netting a goal each. Liam O’Connor hit 0-8.
