Virat Kohli Anushka Sharma Ace India batter's heartwarming post for his wifeafter their T20 World Cup victory over South Africa has gone viral on social media. India defeated the Proteas in the final of the tournament on Saturday, June 29, at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados to clinch their second T20 World Cup title.

Kohli was one of the architects of India’s triumph as he played a marvellous innings of 76 (59) after India were left reeling at 34/3 inside the powerplay. He announced after the match that it was his last T20I, as he would move on from the format.

After the early fall of wickets, Kohli guided India to a good total 176/7 which proved to be enough as South Africa could reach just 169/8 in their 20 overs handing India a seven-run victory.

"None of this would remotely be possible without you my love. You keep me humble, grounded and you always say it how it is with absolute honesty," Kohli captioned his post.

The T20 World Cup win is Kohli’s first-ever major victory after he got married to Anushka in 2017. Earlier, the actress has been subjected to severe social media criticism whenever Kohli has failed to score runs.

Anushka was termed ‘unlucky’ for the Indian team when she was present at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Australia, when the team lost in the semi final of the 2015 ODI World Cup, with Kohli scoring just one run.

Rohit Sharma After playing a critical role in India's T20 World Cup victory over South Africa, both Kohli and India skippercalled time on their respective careers in the shortest format.

Kohli took over the batting mantle from former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar 11 years ago after the latter's retirement. Tendulkar hoped that Kohli will have more glorious moments in Tests and ODIs.
