Liverpool play their penultimate game of the 2026/27 season tomorrow evening, and in just under two weeks, all the focus will switch to the summer transfer window.

Despite a major overhaul taking place in 2025, the current campaign has exposed some big issues which need fixing over the next few months. Midfield appears to be a priority area with Bournemouth star Alex Scott the latest to be linked to an Anfield switch.

Further forward, a Mohamed Salah replacement will be required with RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande seeming to be the top target. He has recently spoken about on a possible transfer away from the German club.

Anthony Gordon, who has been linked to Liverpool for several years, looks set for a move away from Newcastle United this summer. German giants Bayern Munich are the clear frontrunners for his signature but Arne Slot's side still appear to be in the race.

Porto talent linked with move to Liverpool

Liverpool have been linked with Porto midfielder Victor Froholdt. While the 20-year-old has explained that he cannot guarantee another year with the Porgtuguese giants, he has confirmed that he is happy at his current club.

The talent, who operates in the centre of the park, holds a release clause of around £73m. It could be a major risk for the Reds to pursue him, given his inexperience as well as the fact he has never tested himself in the Premier League - one of the most demanding divisions in the world.

Slot issues four injury updates

It was a mixed bag of updates on the Liverpool injury news front from Arne Slot's Thursday morning press conference.

Liverpool eyeing Swedish sensation

Reports suggest that Liverpool are considering a swoop for Borussia Dortmund's Daniel Svensson, but could face stiff competition from the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal. The Reds will look to bolster their backline this summer upon the departure of Andy Robertson, with 24-year-old Svensson thought to be a good fit.

Under contract until 2029, it is thought that the Swede will set back any respective suitors £35m.

Gordon transfer truth

A big update on long-term Liverpool transfer target Anthony Gordon has emerged.

The winger is expected to leave Newcastle United this summer with Bayern Munich leading the race. However, claims that personal terms have already been agreed have been played down by Liverpool Echo's sister-title, The Chronicle.

However, Arne Slot's side appear to have moved on from the England international with The Athletic having already revealed they will not be pursuing him this summer.

Slot makes Alisson transfer claim

Arne Slot delivered a particularly brutal response to recent transfer claims regarding Alisson.

The Liverpool goalkeeper has been linked with a return to Serie A and Slot was again asked about his future on Thursday.

He replied: "Boring...same old answer.I am reading the same as you but I won't talk about it over here.

"You can ask as many times as you want in different ways, our fans need to support Alisson if it's his first or last. Our fans will support him tomorrow and next week and the same goes for next week."

Slot press conference on the way

Liverpool boss Arne Slot is set to speak with reporters in just 15 minutes ahead of the Premier League clash against Aston Villa.

Unai Emery's side being in the Europa League final brought the game forward to Friday night with Slot subsequently having his press conference moved as well to Thursday at 9am.

Incoming Liverpool signing bids farewell

Jeremy Jacquet has said his goodbyes to Rennes while leaving them a perfect parting gift of qualifying for European football as he prepares to join Liverpool this summer.

Currently recovering from shoulder surgery, the youngster has missed Rennes' last 11 Ligue 1 matches and is expected to sit out Sunday's final game away at Marseille.

Jacquet, who made his last appearance for the club at the start of February, was given a personalised farewell gift during their final home match - a 2-1 win over Paris FC.

He later shared a heartfelt video of the moment on Instagram, posting it alongside the caption: "A wonderful last evening at Roazhon."

Liverpool transfer 'appealing' to defender

Benfica centre-back Antonio Silva is expected to be on the move in the summer transfer window.

According to 90min, Anfield is a destination that appeals to the player with their report stating Benfica could accept an exit for a reduced fee as his contract expires in 2027 and an extension looks unlikely.

The 22-year-old has made 41 appearances for Benfica this season and could be a good fit for Arne Slot's side in a position that does need strengthening.

Elliot Anderson among three other midfield transfer targets

Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson, who has been linked to Manchester City and United, is another concrete option for Liverpool.

The Athletic have further stated that Scott and Anderson are joined by Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace and Aston Villa's Boubacar Kamara. The latter is seemingly the only option that Liverpool would face minimal competition for.

However, it is stated that there is a growing concern over how much action he is missing through injury. Kamara has not played for Villa since January because of a knee issue.

Anthony Gordon transfer latest

Anthony Gordon to Bayern Munich has continued to gather pace over the last few days.

The Newcastle United star, who is a long-term transfer target for Liverpool, has not featured for the last few weeks due to both injury and not being selected by Eddie Howe.

Contact between Bayern and Gordon's camp has already been made but there is currently a difference in valuation between the two clubs.

The latest update has come from German outlet Bild where it was stated that Manchester City have their eye on the England international

That is following reports that Gordon's agents made contact with the Reds earlier this month over a possible summer transfer.

Liverpool transfer target Yan Diomande has been speaking to Bulinews about his RB Leipzig future.

Liverpool's Alex Scott 'interest'

Bournemouth star Alex Scott is one of four Premier League midfielders on a list of potential transfer targets for Liverpool.

That is according to The Athletic who have stated there is an interest in the former Bristol City man from Anfield. The 22-year-old has enjoyed a superb season under Andoni Iraola and has therefore also been linked to Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham, with the latter being the club he supports.

Scott is expected to cost a significant amount with another possible exodus of Bournemouth taking place this summer.
