Defending champions Team Europe will look to extend their dominance when they face Team World at the Laver Cup 2025 tennis tournament, scheduled to start at the Chase Center in San Francisco, USA, from Friday.

All Laver Cup 2025 tennis matches will be available to watch on live streaming and live telecast in India.

Team Europe lead the all-time head-to-head 5-2 after reclaiming the Laver Cup title last year in Berlin, while Team World had won the previous two editions.

The Laver Cup 2025 will also mark the eighth edition of the tournament, which pits six of Europe’s finest tennis players against six stars from the rest of the world in singles and doubles contests across three days.

Carlos Alcaraz headlines Team Europe alongside Germany’s Olympic gold medallist Alexander Zverev.

Danish star Holger Rune and Norwegian ace Casper Ruud also add strength to the defending champions.

Teenage sensation Jakub Mensik, who won the Miami Open Masters 1000, is set for his Laver Cup debut, while Italy’s Flavio Cobolli also earns his first call-up.

Team Europe boasts two of the top three players in the ATP Rankings with Carlos Alcaraz (world No. 1) and Alexander Zverev (world No. 3).

Team World, meanwhile, will bank on the fifth-ranked Taylor Fritz and world No. 8 Aussie Alex de Minaur.

Rising Brazilian Joao Fonseca makes his maiden appearance while Argentina’s Francisco Cerúndolo features in his third straight edition.

With three American players - Fritz, Alex Michelsen and Reilly Opelka - in the mix, Team World will also hope to make home court advantage count.

The Laver Cup, named after Australian tennis legend Rod Laver, was launched in 2017 by Roger Federer, Jorge Paulo Lemann and Tennis Australia.

The Laver Cup features 12 matches - nine singles and three doubles - spread evenly across three days.

Each win on Day 1 is worth one point, Day 2 two points and Day 3 three points. The first team to reach 13 points out of the possible 24 wins the title. If the scores are tied at 12-12 after the 12 matches, a doubles tie-breaker decides the champion.
