United’s Premier League fixtures

Here’s a reminder of what Man Utd’s 2026/27 campaign looks like…

United risk repeating costly mistake

Man Utd are on the verge of repeating a £37m mistake – but all could be forgiven yet.

Selling 19-year-old left-back Harry Amass for a paltry £6m feels like a nightmare case of deja vu.

Just two years ago, United sold another promising young left-back, Alvaro Carreras, to Benfica for loose change in a £5.2m deal—only to watch in horror as he sealed a monster £42m move to Real Madrid last summer.

Now, United risk walking down a similar road with Amass.

United are likely to sell Amass this summer, with strong interest brewing in the Championship alongside potential Premier League admirers.

And all while Old Trafford is crying out for left-backs as 31-year-old Luke Shaw enters the final year of his contract.

United’s pre-season fixtures

Atletico Madrid – August 1, 2pm

PSG – August 8, 4pm

Leeds – August 12, 7:30pm

Milan – August 15, 3:45pm

Former United star to be offered shock job

Radamel Falcao will receive the chance to restore his reputation – by becoming Colombia’s assistant manager.

The striker had costly but hugely disappointing spells on loan to both Manchester United and Chelsea between 2014 and 2016.

But he holds Colombia’s all-time goalscoring record with 36 from 104 appearances, and shone during his time with Porto, Atletico Madrid and Monaco.

Falcao, 40, has just become a free agent after ending a two-year stay with Bogota club Millonarios.

And the Colombian FA, FCF, has targeted him to become No.2 to national coach Nestor Lorenzo after previous assistant Luis Amaranta Perea quit to boss Medellin club Independiente.

A source close to Argentine Lorenzo told El Tiempo: “Nestor is pleased about the possibility of Radamel joining his staff, if he decides to retire from playing.

“It was the FCF who offered Falcao to Lorenzo – it wasn’t him who made the decision. It was the federation’s directors who suggested Radamel’s name.”

Zirkzee ‘unlikely’ to join Juventus

Juventus are now ‘unlikely’ to sign Joshua Zirkzee, according to Sky Sports.

That is because the Italian giants have reached an agreement with PSG to sign Randal Kolo Muani on loan with a conditional obligation to buy.

Should the move eventually become permanent, Kolo Muani will sign a five-year contract.

Neville praises Chelsea for transfer strategy

Former Man Utd defender Gary Neville has praised Chelsea for signing Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson.

He told Sky Sports: “If you watched Chelsea for the last three, four or five years you’d say there’s inexperience right throughout the football club.

“I think putting a spine in of good, senior professionals who act as guardians of good behaviour, responsibility and discipline in the dressing room is something that’s not magic. It’s something all top teams have had for many decades.

“Putting in Jordan Henderson and Danny Welbeck who know how to win Premier League titles, their jobs will be as much off the pitch as it will be on it. They’re still good players who can contribute 25-35 games a season, but they will make sure the young players turn up every single day and give their all.

“I didn’t think the young players at Chelsea have any real leadership or guidance on and off the pitch. They’ve now got people who can do that.”

United ‘open to loaning most U21s players’

Man Utd are reportedly open to loaning out pretty much their entire Under-21s team.

The Red Devils are hoping to get first-team experience for their young stars for the 2026/27 season.

Pre-season games against Rosenborg and Wrexham have seen game time handed to many youngsters such as Shea Lacey and Ethan Williams.

The Daily Mail have claimed that the club’s prospects have been put up for loan this summer.

However, there are four players who are set to stay at the club for the new season.

Lacey, Jack and Tyler Fletcher and JJ Gabriel are suggested to be untouchable.

Kamason eyes first team breakthrough

Man Utd youngster Jaydan Kamason is eyeing a first-team breakthrough after two brilliant assists against Rosenborg.

The 19-year-old full back is waiting to discover if United will loan him out or keep him at Carrington this summer.

Kamason, the first player to sign a scholarship at United after coming through the club’s Emerging Talent Programme, suffered two lengthy injuries last season.

The teen has been involved in United’s opening pre-season matches against Wrexham and Rosenborg, but shone in Norway with two brilliant assists after replacing Harry Maguire at half-time.

Kamason, like several of his teammates, is on a preseason mission to break into Carrick’s plans this term.

He said: “Hopefully I can. I’m always trying to aspire to get to that level. If I need a few loans or whatever, we’ll have to see.

“But I’m trying to get to that top level and that’s Man United. You just have to be ambitious.”

How United can have the perfect window

Michael Carrick is still looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season, with United also looking to offload some players.

Sesko injury latest

Benjamin Sesko’s comeback is right around the corner.

The Slovenia international is on schedule to return from a shin injury before the new season starts.

Sesko, 23, missed United’s first two pre-season friendlies against Wrexham and Rosenborg as he continues to follow a rehabilitation program.

Carrington sources say Sesko’s recovery is going to plan and he was never scheduled to participate in the opening friendlies.

He started outdoor training last week and has a chance of being involved against Atletico Madrid in Stockholm on Saturday.

Sesko is likely to start against Paris Saint-Germain in Gothenburg on August 8.

United ‘consider Vlahovic transfer’

Man Utd have considered a move for ex-Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to the i Paper.

Vlahovic is currently a free agent following the expiration of his Juventus contract.

It has been reported that United will look to sign an experienced striker if Joshua Zirkzee moves to Italy – with Juventus understood to be interested in the Dutchman.

Fans slam club’s stance on academy star

Man Utd fans have hit back at reports the club is only demanding a few million pounds for one of their top prospects.

And many are even more perplexed by the fact the youngster plays in a position United are actively looking to strengthen this summer.

Harry Amass, 19, got a run in the Red Devils side under Ruben Amorim, playing seven senior games for the club before gaining further experience on loan in the Championship last season.

But according to The Athletic, United are ready to auction him off for just £6million…

Possible Man Utd XI v Hull

Man Utd kick off Michael Carrick’s first full season with an away trip to newly-promoted Hull on August 22.

However, with a number of stars nursing injuries and many not back until later in pre-season, Carrick may be forced to field a different team to what one might expect.

For starters, Heaven and Maguire is looking likely to be the continued partnership with De Ligt not due back until the Autumn and Martinez getting injured in the World Cup final.

Then in midfield and attack, Mainoo is nursing a back injury while Sesko is on his way back to full fitness.

Given those conundrums, Carrick may opt for Mount in midfield alongside new signing Tielemans, while Mbeumo plays through the middle with Amad off the right and Cunha on the left.

Martinez injury update

Lisandro Martinez has handed Manchester United a huge boost after edging closer to winning his battle to be fit for the start of the new season.

The defender, 28, was heartbroken when he was forced off with an injury during the first half of the World Cup final.

Martinez was then helpless as his Argentina team-mates crashed to a 1-0 defeat against Spain after extra-time.

And United were concerned they would be without the former Ajax man when their campaign gets underway against newly-promoted Hull on August 22.

But Martinez’s injury is not as bad as first feared after tests revealed he had suffered a muscle strain.

And the centre-back, who bagged a spot in the World Cup’s team of the tournament, should be back in time for the trip to the MKM Stadium.

Welbeck set for Chelsea move

Former Man Utd striker Danny Welbeck has agreed to join Chelsea from Brighton.

The 35-year-old will pen a two-year deal with the London side.

Manu Kone ‘agrees’ terms

According to reports, French World Cup star Manu Kone has agreed personal terms with Manchester United this summer.

The Roma midfielder is said to be eager to join Michael Carrick’s side.

The Red Devils are in discussions with the Italian giants and will submit a bid of £42.7million in the coming days.

Zirkzee close to Italian exit

Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee is a top target for Juventus this summer.

The Italian giants are leading the race to sign the striker on loan this summer with a £30million option to buy.

SunSport’s Ekrem Konur has more details.

EXCL: Martinez hires private security after World Cup win over England

Lisandro Martinez and Alexis Mac Allister had security on patrol at their houses after Argentina’s World Cup win against England.

Private security firms were on site at the north-west homes of the Manchester United defender and Liverpool midfielder.

Security personnel were present for two days with emotions high after England‘s 2-1 semi-final loss.

Argentina defender Martinez clutched a banner that read ‘The Falklands are Argentina’s’ while Mac Allister was nearby during celebrations with the bedsheet visible.

No attempts to vandalise Martinez’s or Mac Allister’s properties were made and United were not involved in arranging the security detail for Martinez’s residence.
