Renowned auctioneer, Mallika Sagar had a trying Sunday on November 24 during the Day 1 of IPL mega auction 2024, as she committed some notable mistakes. Her glaring blunders led to financial losses for both Gujarat Titans (GT) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), overturning the main strategies implemented by the above mentioned teams in the auctions.

IPL 2025 mega auction was when Sagar made a miscommunication with regards to the bidding for the English wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler . The Gujarat Titans ended paying ₹15.75 crore for Buttler, despite the Rajasthan Royals having outbid them. IPL Auction 2025 LIVE Perhaps the worst mistake during the Day 1 ofwas when Sagar made a miscommunication with regards to the bidding for the English wicket-keeper batsman. The Gujarat Titans ended paying ₹15.75 crore for Buttler, despite the Rajasthan Royals having outbid them.

A momentary lapse in concentration by auctioneer Mallika Sagar led to the mix-up. While Gujarat Titans had been bid at ₹15.50 crore, LSG was asked by Sagar whether they wanted to increase the amount to ₹15.75 crore or not. LSG refused to do that, but Sagar declared this as the final amount, and the Titans over-paid by ₹25 lakh more.

Another glaring error on Mallika Sagar's part was when bidding for batter Abhinav Manohar, who had a base price of ₹30 lakh and entered the IPL 2025 mega auction.

The bidding started off quite a fierce fight between RCB and CSK. When RCB pulled out, the Gujarat Titans bid in. Later, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) entered the fray at ₹2.40 crore. Once the bid increased to ₹2.80 crore, CSK pulled out, and Manohar was declared sold to SRH for the amount as the hammer fell.

However, confusion crept in when Sagar put the bidding back at ₹3 crore, saying that she missed a paddle raised by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). SRH was forced to raise their bid by ₹20 lakh to win Manohar for ₹3.20 crore.

As the auction action moves to the 2nd Day, Sagar would look to make amends to ensure smooth transition of the big event.
