Defending champions Lahore Qalandars have confirmed the signing of Zimbabwean all-rounder Ryan Burl as a last-minute direct signing ahead of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) opening clash against Hyderabad Kingsmen at the Gaddafi Stadium.The franchise announced that Ryan Burl is their final addition for the upcoming season, taking their squad to a full-strength group of 20 players. The 31-year-old will join fellow Zimbabwean and T20I captain Sikandar Raza.Ryan Burl is set to make his PSL debut, having built his reputation in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), ILT20 and most recently at the 2026 T20 World Cup.In the BPL alone, he has scored over 600 runs at a strike rate above 127 while also contributing with the ball. On the international stage, he has featured in more than 100 T20Is for Zimbabwe, scoring close to 2,000 runs and picking up over 60 wickets.The upcoming PSL edition marks the beginning of a “new era,” with eight teams competing for the first time, including new franchises like Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz. The tournament is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3, featuring 44 matches over 39 days.In a major shift from earlier plans, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to hold all matches in Karachi and Lahore behind closed doors.PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that the decision was taken after consultations with stakeholders, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
