The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced this change to enhance the level of competition. This edition is particularly crucial as it serves as a preparatory platform for Indian cricketers eyeing spots in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. The teams will compete in a round-robin format, with the top team securing the championship. Star players like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Sai Sudharsan, and Axar Patel will be in action, while injuries have sidelined Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav. On the same day, Shubman Gill's Team A will face Abhimanyu Easwaran's Team B in Bengaluru.Interestingly, senior players like, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravi Ashwin have been exempted from the competition to manage their workload, citing India's packed calendar.
