WACO, Texas – No. 25 Baylor women's tennis claimed their second win of the season against Tulane on Sunday afternoon at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Facility, 6-1.The Bears (2-0) earned the doubles point and victories on Courts Two, Three and Four to defeat the Green Wave (0-1) and move into ITA Kickoff Weekend with an undefeated record.THE RUNDOWNStarting in doubles, Court Three's Neda Rahimkhani and Gabrielle Villegas won quickly with a 6-2 decision. On Court Two, Kennedy Gibbs and Mu-Jie Tzeng followed directly behind with another 6-2 victory giving Baylor the 1-0 lead.In singles, Gibbs was the first to finish for the second-straight day, grabbing the victory on Court Three 6-4, 6-0. Zuzanna Kubacha followed behind with her win on Court Two, 6-2, 6-3. Tzeng clinched the match for the Bears on Court Four having a long first set battle, but pulling out the win after dominating the second, 7-6 (3), 6-2.Finishing out the matches, three players went into a third set with Na Dong winning 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 on Court One, Villegas falling to Tulane, 6-3, 3-6, 1-6 and Rahimkhani ending victorious on Court Six 4-6, 6-4, 2-1(8).QUOTABLEHead Coach Joey ScrivanoOn going 2-0 to start the season…"(We) feel really good.
