Marta Kostyuk will enter the top 10 of the WTA rankings for the first time

Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk will enter the world’s top 10 for the first time in her career next week. She will be ranked 10th in the WTA rankings.

The 24-year-old Marta will become the second Ukrainian tennis player in history to make it into the top 10 of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings. The first was Elina Svitolina, who made her top-10 debut in February 2017, according to Ukrinform.

Her entry into the top 10 capped off the best stretch of Kostyuk’s career. During the 2026 season, Kostyuk achieved several new personal milestones at major tournaments.

This year, Marta reached the semifinals at Roland Garros for the first time in her career and then repeated that feat at Wimbledon. On the WTA Tour, Kostyuk also had the most successful season of her career. She won titles in Rouen and Madrid, with her victory in the Spanish capital marking her first WTA 1000 title. This season, the Ukrainian tennis player also reached the final of the WTA 500 tournament in Brisbane.

Following Marta Kostyuk’s debut in the top 10, Ukraine will also have two players in the top ten simultaneously for the first time in history. Elina Svitolina will rise to 7th place following the US Open.

Kostyuk, Ukraine’s No. 2 player, defeated a Russian opponent and advanced to the round of 16 at the US Open.

In the U.S., Noskova defeated Kostyuk and advanced to the quarterfinals of the US Open.

Marta Kostyuk advanced to the fourth round of a WTA 1000 tournament for the first time in her career.
