Liverpool FC news: Sporting director CONFIRMS he will wait for Jurgen Klopp

0
Liverpool supporters of any age will tell you just how big an impact Jurgen Klopp had on the club, and now the 57-year-old could be approaching a return to football management.

Under Klopp Liverpool won their first league title in 30 years, their first Champions League for 15 years and a plethora of other trophies.

The German manager was revolutionary on Merseyside and signed some of Liverpool’s greatest ever players including Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker.

When the legendary manager decided to leave the club at the end of last season many fans were left upset, but now Arne Slot is the Reds’ head coach and things are looking good in Liverpool.

Klopp’s potential return to management

When Klopp left Liverpool he declared that he wouldn’t take another job in management for at least a year, and this could very well still be the case.

Klopp did make a brief return to management when he took charge of Borussia Dortmund for a testimonial match but apart from that the former Liverpool boss has been enjoying some time off.

Now however, it has been revealed that Klopp could be next in line for the German national team job if current boss Julien Nagelsmann were to make a return to club football.

Germany’s sporting director, Rudi Voller told ZDF's Aktuelle Sportstudio (via Mail Online): “I don't even know what Jurgen would like to do again. If Julian Nagelsmann were to decide at some point that he would rather coach a top club again - then of course there is no way around Jurgen Klopp. If he wants to.”

This isn’t a guarantee that Klopp will be the next Germany manager but it does seem like an admission that the job is there for him if he wants it.

Life at Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp

Although Klopp will be remembered as one of the greatest managers to ever sit in the dugout at Anfield, the Reds are fairing well without their legendary boss.

Slot has won five of his first six games as head coach and Liverpool look to be performing well under new management.

The Dutchman has even fixed a few issues that Liverpool had under Klopp, but it is early in his tenure and only time will tell if he can bring Liverpool to the level they reached under his predecessor.

Liverpool seem to be in good hands after Klopp’s departure and the German could return to the dugout at some point in the future.
