Jessica Pegula is into the Wimbledon quarter-finals after a 4-6 6-3 6-1 victory over Iva Jovic.

She has never reached beyond the final eight at SW19, and will have to overcome either Coco Gauff or Belinda Bencic to do so.

But having reached her 10th Grand Slam quarter-final after 2020, the fourth seed will be full of confidence.

A bright future awaits Jovic but today belongs to Pegula.

Momentum has swung back towards Jessica Pegula, who has taken the second set 6-3 to tie with Iva Jovic.

The world No. 4 will see this week as a huge opportunity, with Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina crashing out yesterday.

Aryna Sabalenka also has a tricky match on Centre Court today against Naomi Osaka.

But you'd be surprised to see Jovic roll over in this deciding set.

Djokovic is far from his best here but like all true champions do, he's ground out this first set with an 8-6 tiebreak win in 63 minutes.

Fair play to Safiullin, who hasn't come out here just to make up the numbers. He's playing aggressive tennis when he gets the chance and produced one of the defensive shots of the tournament to save Djokovic's first set point.

The crowd were fully in support of Djokovic at the start of this tie but there are an increasing amount of "come on Roman"s now being shouted. He's winning himself some fans with this performance.

Djokovic leads 7-6(6).

Barbora Krejcikova is the only former winner left in the Wimbledon women's draw.

She has also just lost the first set 7-5 to Karolina Muchova.

Could we be heading for a new name on the trophy...

Djokovic finds his serve when he needs it the most with a couple of huge aces to save two set points.

Safiullin leads 5-3 and will now serve for the set.

Earlier in the match, Djokovic had a huge scare when he whacked a ball against the umpire's chair.

There was a huge gasp inside Centre Court but it was completely accidental and no action was taken.

Fourth-seed Jessica Pegula has found herself a set down to fellow American Iva Jovic.

In fact, that is the first set Pegula has lost in the entire tournament.

Jovic is the new star on the scene and beat Ekaterina Alexandrova in the previous round.

Getting one over on Pegula, however, would be another huge victory after reaching the Australian Open quarter-finals at the beginning of the year.

We're live here on Centre Court where Djokovic has taken an early break in the opening game against Safiullin.

However, the biggest cheer of the afternoon so far has come while Clare Balding was introducing the sporting icons sat in the Royal Box.

Wimbledon royalty Sue Barker got the biggest cheer of the lot, while Manchester United manager Michael Carrick and England World Cup winner Sir Geoff Hurst were also present.

Novak Djokovic is in a sticky spot in the men's singles draw. If he can get past Roman Safiullin today then he faces a nightmare run.

Next up for the Serb could be No. 3 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime in the quarter-finals. He then faces a potential semi-final with hot favourite Jannik Sinner.

Can the 39-year-old come through those two gurelling fixtures and then compete in the final? We're going to find out over the next seven days.

German starlet Ida Wobker has been disqualified from Wimbledon after her racket struck a member of the crowd.

The 15-year-old was losing 6-0, 5-5 when she launched her racket at the ground. Unfortunately for her, the equipment bounced off the group and leaped into the stands.

The umpire immediately called the supervisor to the court and the match was abandoned with her opponent Maria Valentina Pop progressing to round two.
