TV and radio host Marie Crowe welcomed her fourth child, and her first daughter, on the 15th of March.

RTE's Marie and her former Laois GAA footballer husband Billy Sheehan are already proud parents to three boys, Timmy, 12, Billy, 10, and Davie, eight.

Marie shared the happy news of baby Jessie’s arrival on Instagram after previously revealing that she was the baby’s gender was going to be a surprise.

The host is already home with her boys who were pictured cuddling up to their new baby sister. Marie also thanked the staff at the Coombe Hospital, writing: “All the people working in the Coombe Hospital are absolute heroes”.

One of the first visitors was new senator and Marie’s former colleague Evanne Ní Chuilinn, who recently left sports journalism for a career in politics. Marie captioned the picture with Evanne, "We shocked each other, ok quits" referencing her shock decision to switch careers, and the suppose of a baby girl after three boys.

"I don't know what I'm having - it's a big surprise. With three boys, I feel like I’ve won the lottery, so anything after this is a bonus," she told EVOKE.ie back in January.

Marie added that her boys Timmy, Billy and Davie can't wait to meet their new baby brother or sister.

She said: "They think it's a puppy. They're like, 'Great, we're getting a baby,' and I'm trying to explain there's a bit more to it than that."

Sharing how she found her fourth pregnancy, the 42-year-old shared: "I've been sick for 12 weeks, then fine, then tired, then fine again. It's always the same."

Marie is not only surrounded by sport at work, but at home too as her husband and her sons are all sports mad.

While she gives them space to explore other interests, Marie says sport is just naturally a big part of Timmy, Billy and Davie's lives.

The 2FM presenter previously told RSVP Live: "I think a lot of it is just the way we live our lives, sport is such a big part of our lives.

"I work in sport, my husband Billy Sheehan is a former Gaelic footballer, so there's sport on the television all the time and there's footballs everywhere, there's hurleys, there's tennis rackets. They probably don't really know any different.

"In a way, sometimes I wonder are we forming them because of our interests? The older two are definitely really interested, the third fella can take it or leave it at times, which is great too. He's into other things as well as the football. He has a talent show coming up and he's getting dance routines ready and he loves that."
