HEAD TO HEAD

TEAMS PREVIEW

New Zealand A Preview

New Zealand A's campaign has gone downhill: after starting with two huge wins, they have now lost three matches in a row and find themselves on the verge of elimination. In their last match, they lost to the Bangladesh High Performance XI by 23 runs.

Bowling first, they conceded 181/5 in 20 overs, a poor bowling performance from their attack, except for Matthew Fisher, who picked up two wickets while conceding just 31 runs.

Chasing 182 runs, they started well, scoring 84 runs in the first 8.3 overs. The top three batters, Katene Clarke (22 runs), Max Chu (44 runs), and Matthew Boyle (31 runs), put them in a strong position in the first 10 overs of the run chase, but they lost wickets in quick succession between overs 11 and 15 and fell apart.

The wickets in the middle overs severely hurt the scoring rate, and in the end, they fell short by 23 runs, finishing at 158/8. With this loss, they have fallen out of the top-four race. However, with one match to go, and that too against a team that hasn't won a single match this season, the Kiwis will be backing themselves to end their three-match losing streak, win the match, break back into the top four, and qualify for the semi-finals.

New Zealand A Predicted Playing XI:

Katene Clarke, Max Chu, Matt Boyle, Bevon Jacobs, Mitch Hay (wk), Josh Clarkson, Adi Ashok, Zak Gibson, Matt Fisher, Jayden Lennox (c), Dean Foxcroft

New Zealand A Actual Playing XI:

Josh Clarkson, Max Chu, Katene Clarke, Matthew Fisher, Adithya Ashok, Kristian Clarke, Jayden Lennox, Mitchell Hay, Matthew Boyle, Muhammad Arslan Abbas, Bevon Jacobs
