More Than a Team: The Rise of CSK & the Whistle Podu Army

NEW DELHI: A video featuring 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi touching MS Dhoni ’s feet has been making waves on social media. The heartwarming incident occurred after CSK’s previous match against Rajasthan Royals. Instead of opting for a customary handshake, Suryavanshi bowed down to touch Dhoni’s feet—a gesture that quickly went viral across platforms. Chennai Super Kings on Sunday wrapped up their IPL 2025 campaign with a commanding 83-run victory over Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. During the post-match presentation, Dhoni was asked about the moment where the youngster sought his blessings.Reflecting on it at the post-match presentation, Dhoni said, “Definitely you feel old.""Not to forget I have Andre (Siddharth) in my team. I sit on the last seat and he sits next to me. Was just having a chat and I asked him how old are you. He is exactly 25 years younger than me, that makes me feel I am seriously old,” he added. In trademark fashion, Dhoni remained non-committal about his IPL future. He said he would return to Ranchi, enjoy some bike rides, and take his time to make a decision on whether he will feature in the next season.“It depends. I have 4-5 months to decide, there's no hurry. Need to keep my body fit. You have to be at your best,” Dhoni said after CSK’s big win over Gujarat.“If cricketers start retiring for their performance, some of them will retire at 22. I will go back to Ranchi, enjoy a few bike rides. I am not saying I am done, not saying I am coming back. I have the luxury of timing. Will think about it and then decide,” he concluded.
