David Beckham honoured with star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame

Football legend Sir David Beckham has added his name to Hollywood's Walk of Fame in front of his family and fellow A-listers.

His wife and former Spice Girls singer Victoria Beckham and actor Tom Cruise were guest speakers at the event, honouring Beckham with speeches about his accomplishments in the footballing world.

Cruise praised Beckham, saying he "inspired generations around the world to watch and play the game."

Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said Beckham's acknowledgement came at a "fitting" moment as the FIFA World Cup kicks off in the US.

"Beckham’s role in elevating soccer’s profile in America and his lasting influence on sports, entertainment, and global culture make this honor especially meaningful.”

The former footballer is now co-owner of US Major league Soccer team Inter Miami, who signed Argentinian great Lionel Messi in 2023 and won the league in 2025.

In his speech he reflected on his career, talking about how far he's come from his roots.

"I've always been a dreamer. But I could never have imagined that an honour like this would come to a working-class English soccer player like me."

He then gave a shout out to his children in attendance: Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14, stating that they are "the reason I get out of bed in the morning."

The eldest Beckham child was noticeably missing though; Brooklyn Beckham did not attend the ceremony despite living in LA.

When asked by reporters about their alleged ongoing family feud, the 51-year-old diverted conversation to his future goals, according to 9News.

"To be honest, I'm sorry to stop you there, but that's a private matter. That’s the one thing that I don’t want to talk about," he said.
