The season-ending Davis Cup 2024 Final, scheduled to start in Malaga, Spain on Tuesday promises to be an emotional affair for the tennis world as Rafael Nadal is set to bid farewell to the sport after the campaign on home soil.

A 22-time Grand Slam winner and Olympic gold medallist, Nadal, over the last couple of decades, has been one of tennis’ poster boys and is considered among the ‘Big Three’ in the sport alongside the now-retired Swiss icon Roger Federer and Serbian ace Novak Djokovic.

A last dance at home, perhaps, represents the perfect sending-off for Nadal and his teammates, including Carlos Alcaraz and Marcel Granollers, will hope to make it a triumphant one by helping Spain win their first Davis Cup title since 2019.

The Davis Cup 2024 tennis matches will be live streamed and telecast in India.

Alcaraz and Granollers are the world No. 3 in singles and doubles tennis rankings, respectively. Nadal, meanwhile, is a four-time Davis Cup champion with Spain.

The Davis Cup, also referred to as the World Cup of tennis, is the biggest team competition in the sport involving national teams. The Final is the business end of the competition which starts with the Final 8 stage or quarter-finals.

Nadal’s Spain will face the Netherlands, which features the likes of Wesley Koolhof and Tallon Griekspoor, in the Final 8 on Tuesday and a victory over the Dutch will see them go up against either Germany or Canada in the semi-finals on Friday.

The final is scheduled for Sunday with world No.1 Jannik Sinner’s Italy, also the reigning champions, the USA, Australia and Argentina in the other bracket.
