"When I am playing for Chennai, MS Dhoni is the best, when I am playing for India, Rohit Sharma is the best," Shivam Dube gave a cheeky reply.

KAPIL : Shivam, Which Captain you like the most ? Rohit or MS Dhoni ?

ROHIT : fass gaya ye ab 😂pic.twitter.com/fnUZm5pvUB — 𝐒𝐞ðçðé𝐚ðâðŸå‚ (@Oyye_Senpai) October 5, 2024

In a hilarious reaction to the answer, Rohit Sharma asked Dube immediately if he practised his replies days before coming to talk shows like this.

Shivam Dube was recently ruled out of the T20I series against Bangladesh. Dube incurred a back injury which forced him to miss the entire series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Tilak Varma as his replacement.

Dube, who has been a crucial part of India's white-ball plans in recent months, sustained the injury during a practice session. The injury also kept him out of Mumbai's squad for the ongoing Irani Cup. While the extent of his injury remains unclear, team management has opted for a cautious approach to avoid worsening his condition. Dube's absence leaves a noticeable void, as his all-round capabilities provided India with flexibility in both batting and bowling departments.

21-year-old Tilak Varma, who has already impressed in the domestic circuit and the Indian Premier League (IPL), will join the Indian squad in Gwalior ahead of the first match on Sunday. Varma, known for his aggressive style and ability to handle pressure, has featured in 16 T20 Internationals for India and is seen as a promising talent capable of bolstering India's middle order. He has made a significant mark while playing for Mumbai Indians in the IPL and will now be eager to shine on the international stage.

The three-match T20I series begins on Sunday in Gwalior, followed by the second game in Delhi on October 9, and the final match in Hyderabad on October 12.
