Irish underage international Marshall signs for Como
Shamrock Rovers teenager Jayden Marshall has signed for Serie A side Como on a three-year-deal for an undisclosed fee.Marshall, who was in the same Hoops squad as Josh O'Dwyer who recently move to Red Bull Salzburg, is a Republic of Ireland underage international.The left-sided defender, who also can also play in centre back and midfield, has played Under-15s, U17s and U20s, despite being just 16.He was recently named in the Ireland U17 squad for four matches this week, having progressed through the U15s.In a statement, the Premier Division champions said: "All at Shamrock Rovers wish Jayden all the very best as he begins a new football journey in Italy."Irish players are unable to join UK sides until they turn 18 due to Brexit, leading to more players moving to Europe from academies.The clubs had previously been involved in a transfer with Naj Razi moving from Dublin to Lombardy in 2022, although he has since returned to the Hoops.Como are managed by Cesc Fabregas and finished fourth in Serie A last year, sealing Champions League football.Marshall will be in Como’s academy set-up in the hope of progressing to the first-team.
