Penn State Football Quarterback Drew Allar Out For Season

Penn State football quarterback Drew Allar is out for the season with an injury sustained in Penn State’s 22-21 loss to Northwestern on Saturday, James Franklin announced at his postgame press conference.

Allar went down on a 1-yard scramble up the middle on 3rd-and-4 on Penn State’s final drive of the game. He was visibly reeling in pain as athletic coaches ran to check up on him. He got up and walked under his own power for a second before putting his arms around the athletic coaches with a limp. He was carted off after he reached the sideline.

Allar waived a possible entrance to the 2025 NFL Draft and chose to return to Penn State for his senior season before the team’s College Football Playoff game against SMU.

Allar’s senior season is now cut short. Over his time at Penn State, he’s amassed 7,539 yards and 61 touchdowns through 46 games. He also has 757 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns.

Allar is ineligible for a medical redshirt. 2025 was his final year of eligibility. His Penn State and college career are done.
