Hibs led at the interval thanks to Joe Newell but as is usually the case this season Hibs failed to build on their advantage and allowed Aberdeen back into the match in the second half after the home side

Newell hit the post just after the break before Nicky Cadden went close to doubling the Hibs lead. However it was never going to last and with 55 minutes on the clock McGrath equalised for the visitors just moments after Devlin blocked another Cadden effort. Hibs made three changes to chase the victory but it was Aberdeen who took the lead.

Smith in the Hibs goals failed to deal with a corner allowing Nicky Devlin to brilliantly lift the ball into the back of the net to put Aberdeen ahead and it remained 2-1 to Jimmy Thelin’s side as the fourth official held up the board indicating six added minutes.

Two minutes later Cadden finally found the back of the net and it looked like a share of the points was on the cards. However there was more drama to follow on 95 minutes when Sokler sent the away support crazy to make it Hibs 2 Aberdeen 3.

Then Rocky Bushiri shut up the visitors in the last action of the match forcing the ball over the line to make it Hibs 3 Aberdeen 3. HIBS GOALS: Newell (40), N. Cadden (90+2), Bushiri (90+5). ABERDEEN GOALS: McGrath (55), Devlin (76), Sokler (90+4)

Hibs 3 Aberdeen 3.

So Celtic’s lead has been cut to two points but we now have a game in hand over our main title challengers. Not a bad night for Celtic.
