‘HASN’T SPOKEN A WORD’: INTRIGUE GROWS OVER SCRUTINISED SWAN’S FUTURE

Sydney’s General Manager of Football Leon Cameron has knocked back suggestions that suspended star Nick Blakey is seeking a move away from the club.

The 26-year-old is currently one of five Swans who aren’t being considered at selection for the remainder of the 2026 season, after breaching club standards last month after their Round 23 win over Essendon in Melbourne.

The Age’s Sam McClure reported last week that Blakey has a desire to leave the Swans follows “a deterioration in his relationship with the club”, following the Herald Sun’s Jay Clark last month revealing he could be courted by as many as eight Victorian clubs.

However, speaking on 3AW, Cameron says he has been given no indication Blakey wants to depart the club.

“Nick hasn’t spoken a word of this,” Cameron said.

“There’s always going to be speculation when clubs are going through a crisis like we’ve gone through in the last two and a half weeks.

“But, it’s all speculation. Nick’s contracted, and so are all the other guys as well.

“We’ll work through what everything looks like when our season finishes, but I don’t get tied up in that too much.”

Riley Bice, one of the five Swans stood down, was cleared last week of any criminal conduct as Victoria Police continue their investigation into an alleged sexual assault in East Melbourne on August 17.

BIGGEST HINT YET WHERE DELISTED STAR COULD LAND

Delisted GWS star Jesse Hogan has reportedly passed his medical test at Collingwood, as the 31-year-old eyes off joining a fourth AFL club.

Nine’s Owen Leonard reported on Sunday evening that there is growing confidence the 2024 Coleman Medallist will be wearing black and white next season, after undergoing a routine examination in recent times.

“He’s passed a medical test at Collingwood, and there’s confidence at the Magpies that he wants to join them” Leonard said.

“They’re not the only club linked with him — he’ll ramp up talks (with other clubs) in the coming days — but certainly the Pies have certainly made progress in the race to become his fourth team.

Hogan, who has previously played at Melbourne, Fremantle and the Giants, is understood to have interest from Carlton and Gold Coast in addition to Collingwood. Geelong has been previously linked to the 190-gamer, though no longer look to have serious interest.

Fox Footy reporter Jon Ralph echoed the belief internally at Collingwood on X, noting that Hogan is still yet to come to a definitive decision.

Leonard also reports that dual Brownlow Medallist Lachie Neale has also passed his medical at the club, with his move to Collingwood now considered a fait accompli, also as an unrestricted free agent.
