An edition that lived up to expectationsAmélie Mauresmo: In many aspects, this 2026 edition has been a success. It has been a tournament full of surprises and emotions. More than 727,000 people came through the gates of the stadium over the course of the event, which is a new record for us.The players have also given us very positive feedback. Mirra Andreeva said yesterday, during her speech, that she felt ‘cosy’ at Roland-Garros and that is our top priority. We are very proud that the magic of the tournament also resonates with the players.Spectators watching from home were also able to fully experience Roland-Garros. For us, and for all the teams involved, that is extremely important. I would also like to express how proud I am to be leading this tournament. This year, we were truly challenged, whether by the weather or by scheduling constraints. But everyone pulled together, showed great solidarity, and delivered an edition that lived up to our expectations.A tournament for allI also wanted to highlight what makes Roland-Garros unique: its identity as a committed tournament. Thanks to Gaël Monfils’ evening [‘Gaël & Friends’, held on May 21 on Court Philippe-Chatrier] and Yannick Noah Day, we were able to raise more than €600,000 for charities. We are also working to make the tournament more accessible, for everyone. During the Opening Week, 138,000 spectators came to Roland-Garros with tickets priced under €30. Our priority is to ensure that everyone can experience Roland-Garros, and we will continue to move in that direction. The Tribune Concorde, which is a free initiative, is fully in line with that vision. On Friday, more than 11,000 people came along despite the cancellation of the second men’s semi-final.We also wanted to introduce new experiences in cuisine with ‘Le Jardin des Chefs’, which proved to be very popular. Even if there is always room for improvement, we received a great deal of positive feedback.Surprises and incredible matchesFrom a sporting perspective, we witnessed some absolutely incredible matches, with plenty of surprises and emotions. There were 31 five-set matches in total [before the men’s final], and we also experienced some very special moments with Stan (Wawrinka), Gaël (Monfils) and Caroline (Garcia).New faces have also emerged, and the younger generation seized their opportunity, as shown by Jakub Mensik, Joao Fonseca and Rafael Jodar. And of course, our new champion, Mirra Andreeva, represents the future of tennis at just 19 years old. Not to mention Maja (Chwalinska), the standout surprise of this edition.
