The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed the shifting of the Duleep Trophy final from Bengaluru to Chennai. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia told Cricbuzz that the decision to move the match was taken to ensure that the general public can watch the game, which will feature some of the country’s top players.“The two quarterfinals and two semifinals will be held at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. But because of some government restrictions, we cannot allow the public to watch the matches at the CoE. In view of that, we have moved the final to the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai,” Saikia said. All matches matches will be live-streamed, with some matches - including the final - to be broadcast on television as well. The five-day final will be played from September 6. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be played across four days. The inter-zonal red-ball multi-day competition begins on August 23, with two quarterfinals (East Zone vs North East Zone and North Zone vs West Zone) to be played simultaneously.
