Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham remain active as the summer window heats up ahead of its closure in a few days time. The Premier League champions are set to discover if their pursuit of Julian Alvarez has been successful amid reports of Atletico Madrid setting a deadline to bring the saga to an end. Habeeb Ogunneye and Andria Bartishvili are poised to follow James Scanlon and Igor Tyjon in becoming Arsenal players, while Gabriel Martinelli should complete his move to Al-Hilal.

Liverpool are finalising a move for Bradley Barcola following a medical but are in talks with Manchester City for the sale of Cody Gakpo in what is a massive blow to Tottenham. The Reds also have Ismaila Sarr on their shortlist, while Chelsea are braced to receive an offer for Enzo Fernandez and are stepping up efforts to sign a replacement amid progress in talks with Monaco for Lamine Camara.

Man United are expected to confirm a double deal as they continue to target a left-back. Tottenham still hold an interest in Neco Williams but could lose up to five players including Richarlison. Follow the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip live below!

Emi Martinez reveals why he has joined Chelsea

Emi Martinez has completed his move to Chelsea, though he will not feature against Brighton this afternoon.

Standard Sport reported during the week that Chelsea had agreed a £7.5million deal with Aston Villa to upgrade their goalkeeping options, with Martinez expected to become Xabi Alonso’s No1.

Standard Sport understands the move came about after the Blues were offered Martinez by intermediaries and the Argentina international communicated to the club that he was keen on joining.

The 33-year-old has got his wish with his move being announced on Sunday morning, saying it was an “easy decision” to join Chelsea.

“I’m delighted to be at this football club,” he said. “Coming to Chelsea, for me and my family, was an easy decision to make and I’m just over the moon - I can’t wait to get started.

'Arsenal should sign Osimhen'

Dwight Yorke has provided Arsenal with an alternative to Julian Alvarez.

He said: "Arsenal would 'definitely run away' with the title by signing Victor Osimhen this summer.

“Victor Osimhen to Arsenal would be huge. When you think of the money they spent on Viktor Gypkeres, sixty-five or seventy million, I think it was, adding Victor Osimhen would really cement them as favourites.

“If that were to happen, then I would say Arsenal would definitely run away with it. But again, I go back to what I said before: it's all well and good having such a fantastic squad, but you'll have a lot of unhappy players there who won't be able to get into a rhythm.”

Dwight Yorke was speaking to Reviant.

Why Jaidon Anthony signing marks a new chapter for Brentford

Last season, Brentford's European ambitions partly failed to materialise due to a lack of depth in the squad. Only Manchester City (2) scored fewer goals off the bench than Brentford (3).

That was an issue Brentford were determined to address this summer and they did so by bringing in Jaidon Anthony from Burnley and Callum Wilson from West Ham.

The pair started for the first time in a Brentford shirt against Birmingham and quickly set about displaying their quality.
