Mohamed Salah aiming for another milestone as Tottenham could become the new Man UtdMohamed Salah could break a personal milestone when Liverpool take on Tottenham in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final clash on Thursday.Liverpool will need to overturn a one goal deficit after Lucas Bergvall's late strike saw Tottenham win the first leg 1-0. Salah will be key to Liverpool's chances of reaching the final, having made 42 goal contributions in 33 appearances across all competitions so far this season. The 32-year-old does have an excellent record against Spurs, having scored 14 goals in 22 games against them during his time at Liverpool, Fiorentina, Chelsea and Basel. If he scores a brace on Thursday, Tottenham will move level with Manchester United as the team Salah has been most prolific against. The Egyptian has scored a remarkable 16 goals against United in just 17 games. Djed Spence is expected to be the man tasked with keeping Salah quiet on Thursday and the full-back is feeling confident about his chances."I back myself against any winger, Salah or whoever," the 24-year-old said. "I back myself against anyone. [Salah] is a great player, a top player. He's in good form also. You've just got to nullify what he's good at it, really."He's good at a lot of things, I just gotta stay focused on it and hopefully come out on top. We're always ready. We've got to be confident and we gotta be ready to fight and hopefully we make it to the final."I take confidence from every game, every game I'm gonna feel more confident and hopefully get better. It's been difficult but we fight for the manager, we fight for the club and you know, we all believe in what he wants to do."We're over the moon with the three points [from their win over Brentford on Sunday] and hopefully we can just kick on from here. We've got a lot of players to come back, a lot of key players, great players. Once they come back it gives us the strength to kick on in the season."Tottenham are hoping to reach the Carabao Cup final for the first time since they lifted the trophy back in 2008, while Liverpool are the defending champions having beaten Chelsea 1-0 in last year's final.Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
