Crows select Hugo Hall-Kahan in Mid-Season Rookie Draft

Adelaide has landed running defender Hugo Hall-Kahan with Pick 10 in the 2026 AFL Midseason Rookie Draft.

The 22-year-old has spent the first half of 2026 turning heads for Williamstown in the VFL with speed and line-breaking runs.

Hall-Kahan, who stands 188cm tall, rose through the junior ranks as a forward but has spent time for the Seagulls honing his craft in defence.

The Sandringham Dragons product also arrives with experience at the elite level, having spent 18 months on Sydney’s list in 2022 and 2023.

Adelaide National Recruiting Manager Hamish Ogilvie described Hall-Kahan as a “mature, ready-made player”.

“We’re really pleased to have Hugo joining us,” Ogilvie said.

“We went into this mid-season draft with our eyes solely on him, and when we saw his name still available at Pick 10 we jumped at the chance.

“A forward in his junior years, he’s spent a lot of time with Williamstown down back and has picked up the defensive craft really well.

“He’s someone who can add value right now and we believe has the potential to be a long-term player for the Club.”
