Collingwood Magpies star Bobby Hill seemingly back with partner Georgia Devlin as couple await third child

Collingwood premiership star Bobby Hill’s potential return date to the AFL has been delayed, with the club granting him leave ahead of the birth of his third child.

Hill has not played since round 21 last year, with the club granting him personal leave following the breakdown of his relationship with Georgia Devlin, which saw her move back to Perth with their two sons.

Just months after their split, Devlin revealed she was expecting her third child, and the couple has seemingly patched things up since, with Pies coach Craig McRae revealing Hill would be granted leave to be with her ahead of their child’s birth.

“Bobby’s partner is due, she’s due this weekend, he’s unlikely to play,” McRae said.

“I am not sure if she’s going into labour, but he’s not here today, she’s got a bit going on.

“Again, we wish them well and see how that goes in the next couple of days.”

The 2024 Norm Smith medallist has made a comeback to the VFL in recent weeks, in a big step forward for the 26-year-old, having only returned to the club in March, after training in private since stepping away from the club.

He was spotted at the AFL’s Sir Doug Nicholls Round launch on Monday and was in good spirits, joking and laughing with his fellow Indigenous stars.

While an AFL return will be delayed, teammate Lachie Schultz said it had been good to see Hill’s smile back at the club.

“We’re just happy to see him back at the club and enjoying his time and his footy again,” he said.

“He’s such an infectious character and everyone’s loving having him around.

“He’ll just keep building momentum as the season goes and we look forward to seeing what he can put together.”

Collingwood will wear a jumper inspired by Hill’s life story — designed by 11-year-old Noongar Yamatji artist Jed Bennell — during Sir Doug Nicholls Round.
