Enzo Fernandez to reunite with Maresca at Manchester City?

Manchester City are poised to make a late move for Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez before the transfer window slams shut, according to The Telegraph.

Chelsea reportedly want £120million ($222million AUD) for the Argentina international, who could reunite with former Blues boss Enzo Maresca at Premier League rivals City.

Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano also said Fernandez has given the green light to City as he is “open” to swapping London for Manchester, where the club have lost Rodri among others following Pep Guardiola’s exit.

Fernandez has called Chelsea home since 2023, and he came off the bench in the club’s season-opening 3-2 Premier League win at Fulham.

Asked about Fernandez’s future, new Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso told BBC Radio 5 Live: “In football, I am not surprised by anything.

“We will see. My wish is that we know what will happen for the future but we will see this week.”

Chelsea lining up massive bid for English midfielder

Chelsea are reportedly preparing a big offer to sign Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott as they brace for Fernandez’s Stamford Bridge departure.

The Independent reports Chelsea are plotting a fresh approach to lure English star Scott from Bournemouth.

Chelsea have previously attempted to sign Scott without success, but The Independent claims a bid in the region of £80-90million ($152-171million AUD) could force Bournemouth’s hand.

Scott was in the starting XI as Bournemouth kicked off 2026-27 with a late 2-1 loss at Manchester City last week.

The 23-year-old joined Bournemouth from Bristol City three years ago.

Liverpool in talks with PSG over Barcola, Reds quoted $152million for other target

Liverpool are holding “key talks” with European champions Paris Saint-Germain over Bradley Barcola, reports The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

Premier League powerhouse Liverpool have been linked with France international Barcola throughout the transfer window as they look to replace Mohamed Salah.

So far there has been a gap in valuation as PSG reportedly rate the 23-year-old at $277million AUD.

Ornstein said the two clubs are meeting to “establish direction of travel on potential move”.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have been told to fork out £80million ($152million AUD) to sign Yankuba Minteh from Brighton and Hove Albion, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

Previously, transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano reported Liverpool had reached a broad verbal agreement with Minteh over contract terms.

However, Brighton are reportedly holding out for a big sum to part with the 22-year-old winger and the Reds are not expected to return with a third bid unless the Seagulls lower their demands.

Tottenham unveil latest signing amid spending spree

Tottenham have completed the signing of Savinho from Manchester City.

Spurs splashed the cash to prise Savinho – who is now being referee to as Savio, his actual name – from the Etihad Stadium for a reported $161.9million AUD transfer fee following two years in Manchester.

“It’s taken a while but I’m very happy to be here,” said the Brazilian. “It’s a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world.

“As soon as I spoke to the Head Coach I knew I had to come. He told me he wants to help me reach the highest level, and I believe we can do that together, as a team.”

It comes amid Tottenham’s unprecedented spending spree heading, with Omar Marmoush also reportedly set to arrive from City.

Spurs – who were outclassed 3-0 by Brentford on the opening weekend – have been on a spending spree totalling $615.3million AUD and counting having narrowly avoided relegation under Roberto De Zerbi last season; Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke are the headline arrivals, along with Liverpool great Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Martin Dubravka and Cole Ramsey – who have all moved to London on free transfers.
